Anybody remember this movie based on the DC comic character, directed by Wes Craven, and featuring Adrienne Barbeau as the love interest/heroine who falls in love with the title character played by the late Dick Durock (the only actor to ever play the character in the live action versions to date).

I really enjoy the music that he did for that movie eventhough you can hear a lot of Friday the 13th in it.

I was wondering has there ever been a cd release for this? If not. Why ? Also is their a label that would want to release it ? cough Intrada cough

Oh and what are your thoughts on the score and whether it should have an album release ?

I'm down with this. I hope this score comes out! It would be a Grail for me for sure!! I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Adrienne Barbeau at my first FanExpo!!!

There was an album released when the film came out in 1982 by yours truely, Varese Sarabande. It's an interesting score and much better than his usual work on the Friday the 13th films. I wouldn't be surprised if this one gets issued as part of Varese's Club releases in the near future or another label will pick it up and expand it even further.

I need to watch this movie again it's been a while. I enjoyed it emmensly when i was growing up.

If Manfredini's Swamp Thing score is released before any of his Friday the 13th scores I will curl up in a corner, weep openly, and wither away into nerd dust.

Okay so the F13 scores have finally been released. Is there any hope of a C&C release for this ?

Actually there were hints/rumors, all that sort of business LaLa was doing
this, quite some time ago. Guess if anyone could pry the rights from Varese,
it's an MGM picture, so there is hope! I love this score, great fun!

I have always found this movie (directed by Wes Craven) to be a lot of fun and watch it whenever I can. Harry Manfredini's score is at times touching, funny and exciting. Sometimes all within the same scene.

I hope that one day this hit's cd... It would make a great addition to any collection. HM fans, or course, would be the most happy.

While we are at it... another HM score never saw the light of day... also for Wes Craven... Hills Have Eyes II from the 80's. Not a worthy follow-up to the original, but it did boast an effective score by HM.

Redokt, you know that Don Peake did some limited, private CD 'thing' of the original
Hills Have Eyes score recently - it's fascinating stuff!

This title just angers me lately (SWAMP) - I had rented the mistakenly uncut
DVD back at the dawn of the format, the version with the nudity that was later
cut out to secure a PG rating. Last year, I thought I had found a copy of the uncut
version (it has the same packaging and year!), but alas, the nudity is gone frown
I won't even check ebay to see how much that rare R rated version goes for.....

Been listening to the F13 soundtracks a lot. I'd love for more of Manfredini's scores to be released. Especially "The Children", Swamp Thing", "The Hills Have Eyes II", and "Slaughter High", which all have a Friday the 13th vibe to them.

Yeah. Similar story for me. It's my hope that if this ever sees a Blu-ray release that it's the uncut original version. Not because I have a great desire for the nudity itself (though it's nice); for me it's having the original theatrical cut of a film.

She'll be at the first and last and only horror convention that Jamie Lee Curtis is attending in November in Indianapolis, which I have tickets for. I've met her before, lovely lady by the way.

I wonder if this will be a LP to CD release or a Club release. I'd take either.

If they're also going digital, as it states in that article, then I would guess it's not a CD - LP title.

How does this stack up against DEEPSTAR SIX, the real gem amongst Manfredini's filmography?

I’m not sure if this has been discussed in any other threads, but there is a download of this available on Harry Manfredini’s Bandcamp. It is “Taken and slighty remastered from LP (Original Score)” per the site. I know it’s not a proper CD release, that I would LOVE, but I’m happy to have it regardless.
There are also downloads for HOUSE 1 & 2, Deepstar Six, Wishmaster and COMPLETE versions of Friday the 13th 6 & 7. I’m loving it.

Do we know whatever happened with this release? There was a press release a few years ago, then.... silence.
