With the exception of Little Shop of Horrors, which I don't like, at all, I am such a fan of his music. My two favorite scores are A Christmas Carol: The Musical and Beauty and the Beast.
I really like the reinstatement of " If I never knew you ". Idiotic move dropping it from the film in.the first place!
I quite agree. They really should've kept it in the film, regardless of how many kids were squirming through it (which was apparently the primary reason it got cut).

Maybe I should check it out. Is the film as.good as the.music?
The film is a pretty good film, though the gargoyles can wear on one’s nerves and cause the film to suffer from inconsistent tone in its attempt to Disneyify the original novel (my favorite version is currently the Charles Laughton version).
I just purchased BEAUTY AND THE BEAST on Blu-ray yesterday and really like the title song. Menken is quite a song writer. He's got eight Oscars. My favorite song of his is COLORS OF THE WIND. What about you guys?
I agree. On both counts.
I buy every Menken recording that comes out. (Though some are better than others. THE APPRENTICESHIP OF DUDDY KRAVITZ and GOD BLESS YOU MR. ROSEWATER are pretty bland. And I like only the title songs from both SISTER ACT and LEAP OF FAITH, though bith of them are very good.)
Wow, that's a hard one. So many great songs. I mean I loved The Little Mermaid but then topped he it with B&TB, didn't care for Aladdin at first but it's grown on me, I later discovered Hunchback and Pocahontas which I actually prefer over the earlier efforts. Probably because they are fresh and newer. All that said what comes to mind is "Beauty and the Beast (Angela Lansbury) ".

Hi solium buddy! I know we don't agree much, which is fine, but it's nice when we do! I really respect your opinion.
