Sorry to bump this thread again, but I just wanted to clear up that - regarding the information on the set by Amazon - my Amazon invoice only mentions "25th Anniversary music box", and there's nothing in it about a limited, collector's edition.

(And, by the way, even if Amazon did put 'limited or collector's edition' somewhere in the Product Details at the time - which I'm not really sure about, as nobody took any screenshots - this would be Amazon’s responsibility and their mistake I think, so we or Amazon would have no right to ask the bonus disc from WB of course.)

In hindsight, as there was no misinformation at all from WB, the rest was indeed only wrong assumptions on our part I'm afraid.

Thanks for checking that!

Speaking of the BONUS Disc, wasn't this supposed to arrive before Christmas, kind of as a Sorry, the set was delayed kind of thank you for being patient, or is the bonus disc shipping with the full box set in Feb?

Means nothing. Look at the first line of the official announcement WB sent out regarding the bonus disc (as shown in the first post of this thread):

"Thank you for your order of "THE DANNY ELFMAN & TIM BURTON 25TH ANNIVERSARY MUSIC BOX"

Same as on your invoice. Seems they've confused themselves as much as their customers.

Seems like there has been no word about the release and or shipping of the "bonus disc"

Something tells me they will fed-ex the disc, but probably send out an e-mail with a heads up on it. Maybe?

You obviously over-estimate them.

It seems like this would arrive by Christmas as the picture on the CD is Christmas'ish looking, but again, I'm not involved so I don't know. I myself can't wait to get it, this CD and the whole thing in Feb.

I would imagine that the bonus would be shipped with the whole box. After all they could send us the bonus CD and then we could all still cancel our orders. I don't see them shipping until they charge our cards which won't be until the whole box is ready to ship.

Okay, since the band-aid has been ripped off again...

Here's my email confirmation from WB (copied and pasted, no additions)

Your Warner Bros. Records order includes the following items :

QTY Item
1 The Danny Elfman & Tim Burton 25th Anniversary Music Box "Collectors Edition"
Danny Elfman and Tim Burton
CD/DVD
Price $499.99
ADVANCED ORDER
Estimated Street Date 12-21-2010

-----------

My understanding of the second email from WB says "hey, they'll send me something for the holidays*" which by my calendar could be next Thursday 12/24 (Christmas Eve) or Sunday 12/26 (Boxing Day) or Friday 12/31 (New Year's Eve.)

In appreciation of your order, Warner Bros Records is pleased to let you know that we will be sending you a very special HOLIDAY GIFT.

*Holiday unspecified - I'll give 'em through Martin Luther King, Jr. Day before I really go on a rant!

-----------
To quote a favorite film line: "Lighten up, Francis."

Has anybody written them or called them? That would be the easiest and best way to find out. What do you think?

I think that the licensing issues have not been resolved yet. It'd be a downer if they announced what they planned on releasing on the bonus disc but come out saying "We couldn't resolve the licensing issues" and thus not include them. I think they're going to announce the contents of the bonus disc when everything is 100% locked.
