I guess its an age thing, Paul. Our generation who experienced Ennio and the westerns tell much the same tale. Tg similar.

And talking of the difficulty of whistling that impossible Ennio theme, check out the Spaghetti Western Orchestra's attempt...like the concert sopranos imitating Edda, when it comes to the fast staccato bursts, they miss notes out and, like here, are unable to match Alessandroni's original.

Yeah, I find that's the trouble with Morricone re-recordings (sans Morricone), no Edda or Alessandroni & no Ennio driving the musicians nuts, trying to get the sound that's in his head.
