I really enjoyed the music in this movie, even if it was a little too loud at times. I look forward to hearing the music outside dvd, since there were lots of wordless sequences (the title character thinking, doing strange things, and looking conflicted), so Antheil got a lot of leeway, and wrote very challenging stuff. And dvd commentator Eddie Muller made a big deal talking about Antheil in the commentary, calling him the only bona fide genius working on the film (Muller said very little about this music, specifically, though).

the Stanley Kramer Co. apologized for sending out bullets to critics and industry personnel as part of a pre-invitational screening "teaser." Eeeeewww!

I look forward to hearing the music outside dvd, what do you mean? There's no isolated track on the dvd. Is there an upcoming cd release, or do you mean you're making your own cd from the dvd? I'll do a "taped off TV" version for myself.
