Yes, mine has arrived too. Very nice package.

Listening to Disc One now and the music is wonderful. Interestingly, my dog hasn't reacted at all to any of the doggie sounds on the disc, but he always sits up when he hears a dog on TV.

Interestingly when I was playing a few clips here at my sister's home and her dogs heard Lassie, they answered back, but then one is a Collie who looks like Lassie, the other is an honorary Collie because as a service dog he has attended many Collie Club meetings with my sister (He is a Dalmatian). They both speak fluent Collie.

I'm watching the Lassie movies this week and I got a real chuckle. In COURAGE OF LASSIE, Lassie portrats a dog named "Bill". So you have a male dog playing a female dog playing a male dog. Hmmm. This is decades before TOOTSIE!

The music sounds great. I'm being sueded towards a purchase.

"It's a Dog's Life," score by Elmer Bernstein, has been issued as a made-on-demand DVD by Warner Archive.

Currently 50% off with the code FSM50 at SAE. Somewhat tempted, but the sound F/X and dialogue give me "paws". wink

Don't be! The scores are excellent and the "effects" are minimal. "LCH" is a great score! If you don't, you'll
be barking up the wrong tree.

Don't pause -- grab it! Only one and a half discs out of five has F/X or dialogue. It's a steal. (Personally I'm so grateful they included the Previn scores even with FX because they're my favorite scores on the set!)

Absolutely, essential set - I love dialogue - fx on scores that adds flavour or story-lining like being at the pictures, Lassie is one of my best for that & Jeremiah both simply blend in-an-out like a dream respectfully - Previn was indeed at the top of his game. Glad i own these orchestrations beautiful colours.

I got this back when it first came out and have to offer a slightly contrasting opinion. It still feel it is worth having, but to be honest, I can't listen to the tracks with sfx very often. The jewels are the Bernstein score and Amfitheatrof's PAINTED HILLS (both without sfx). COURAGE OF LASSIE is also quite listenable.
But despite some good moments, I can't listen to the rest of the set very often. There is a LOT of barking and it is truly distracting. I don't mind most of the other music and effects CDS I have (SATAN BUG comes to mind), but there is something about the incessant barking that really cuts through to the forefront and messes with me.
Still worth the cost to get the above mentioned jewels though and not a complaint...just a personal observation. I see others here are not bothered.
