What about some early Thomas Newman from the 80s/90s?
A LessThan Zero release would be a dream come true!!!
Or a proper release of Fried Green Tomatoes?

I'll second a proper release of Newman's FRIED GREEN TOMATOES. The original release is hard to come by and expensive!

I wonder if Kritzerland is interested in releasing a Max Steiner score if given the opportunity?

TOMATOES is expensive but it's there. I dont remember much more music in THE PLAYER. But I'd love to finally get his lovely scores for dramas MEN DONT LEAVE.

boy, he made SO many post-adolescent/coming-of-age comedies/dramas in the 80s!

My wishlist for 1960s Paramount titles, in addition to the forthcoming one by Williams (Tennessee Williams, that is - "S" & "S" smile ) includes:

  • Leonard Rosenman's "Hell Is For Heroes", '62 (your favorite year, Bruce)
  • "Lady In A Cage" by Paul Glass, '64 (Guillermo del Toro loves this one - me, too)
  • Jerry Goldsmith's "Warning Shot", '67 (maybe with the Liberty LP progam, too?)
  • "No Way To Treat A Lady" by Stanley Myers, '68
  • "Blue" by Manos Hadjidakis, '68
  • Komeda's "Riot", '69
  • "My Side Of The Mountain" by Wilfred Josephs, '69 (the LP was mostly dialogue)

Hope Kritzerland's plans go well whichever titles are released.

Maybe someday we'll even witness Bernard Green's "All The Way Home" on an album ... wink

Hell is for heroes is wonderful, especially the delicious North-esque main title with snare drumming and Spartacus-like trumpets.

Blue is an interesting one. I havent seen the film in years but I was convinced the LP version of the main title seem to be lacking the edge of the music in the actual film, I suspect choir was missing or different. From memory, film version much better, and has castenets at the beginning as the gang ride up. Nice score though. good main theme and nice love theme.

But, maybe Mr. Bruce will find a way to make a CD of SEPARATE TABLES happen one day.

She may weep buckets of tears for foolish mistakes, Manderley, but Hello Kitty is waving her posy over that possibility.

You can say that about 1/2+ of the scores being rereleased today. TOMATOES is an iconic Thomas Newman score that deserves the full treatment by anyone of our fav labels.

There has never been a CD of any Thomas Newman score by La La Land, Intrada, FSM & co, right?

So come on Mr. Kimmel, be the first to release music by this great and wrongfully underrepresented film composer!!! smile
