To paraphrase Mr. Thatcher in Citizen Kane, I will now read a prepared statement after which I will refuse to answer any further questions. It now falls to me to keep you apprised of publicity developments involving the upcoming Danny Elfman/Tim Burton Box Set, to wit: this video of yours truly, Danny Elfman, Mr. Kraft, and other pivotal players speaking about the creation of the 260-page book Danse Macabre: 25 Years of Danny Elfman and Tim Burton, which I wrote last summer and which will be included in the box set. Note Richard's forthright descriptions of how he tortured me during the writing of this tome.

Just to reiterate, all I did was write the book--so I can't answer your questions about any other aspects of the project.

Here is a clip showing the unboxing of the DANNY ELFMAN & TIM BURTON 25TH ANNIVERSARY MUSIC BOX as well as a behind-the-scenes clip regarding the book, DANSE MACABRE by Jeff Bond which is included exclusively in the set.

These clips are part of an ongoing series highlighting various aspects of this production.

THE DANNY ELFMAN & TIM BURTON 25th ANNIVERSARY MUSIC BOX: DANSE MACABRE- THE BOOK

Tim Burton, Danny Elfman, and others involved in the production of THE DANNY ELFMAN & TIM BURTON 25TH ANNIVERSARY MUSIC BOX offer a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of DANSE MACABRE, a 264-page book included in this project.

This meticulously researched and lavishly illustrated book features a foreword by Johnny Depp, as well as rare photos, stories, and interviews from the cast and crew, behind-the-scenes of this classic music—from the early days of Elfman's band Oingo Boingo to the recent blockbuster film, Alice In Wonderland.

This comprehensive 10"x10" keepsake, fine linen-wrapped hardbound book with gold foil stamping is produced exclusively for this collection. DANSE MACABRE: 25 YEARS OF DANNY ELFMAN AND TIM BURTON is written by acclaimed film-music journalist Jeff Bond and designed by Grammy-winning designer Matt Taylor.

Over 80 actors, writers, directors, composers, editors, singers, and others were interviewed to paint a compelling picture of this historic teaming of Elfman and Burton.

Are the nominations open for Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package yet?

Can't wait to 'unbox' the magic here in Boston.

Awesome stuff, Jeff! I wish I had the $500 to spend on this set. IMO, the book is much more interesting selling point than the CD's themselves. Too bad the book couldn't be published separately.

Congratulations Jeff and maybe one day I'll be able to read the book.

I watched the video last night. I'm on the east coast so I get all the Burton/Elfman e-mails just before I go to bed.

Everything looks great!

Jeff Bond: author of Star Trek liner notes and a Danny Elfman book... seriously, how can I be like you when I grow up? smile

FINALLY, we'll actually get to know some truth and not the, oh it was a pleasure working with so and so on this project and everyone's saying it with a big smile. I'm glad that they aren't shying away from the TRUE story. This should be one hell of a cool read.

Tonight I will dream of Marylin Manson bringing me the Danse Macabre on a golden bloody plate.
Then frightening Fruma Sarah will try to catch me and steal the book.

The book looks really nice. I think books like this can usually sell for a lot of money. I just wish we had some way of knowing when the sets are going to start shipping. I would assume in the next week or two?

I also think the design of the music on the drive for computer looks nice and from rumors out there that it may contain more music than on the CDs is a nice bonus.

All these extra "teasers" just make the additional waiting time for this almost unbearable.

I now have to find my jaw, which dropped off and fell on the floor somewhere during that second Youtube clip. Kudos, congratulations and much admiration, Mr. Bond.

Wow. That book looks stunning, I can't wait to get hold of it and read it. That book is surely a good $40-$60 of the asking price for the set. All I want to know now is when will I get it?

If I'm not mistaken, the boxes should start shipping soon (if you pay attention, the marketing process has been a lot more active this week, people say their credit cards have been charged, a contest has been set up and the deadline to participate is February 15th) so it shouldn't take long now
