The 2006 release is great. But the score is not complete ... In addition, there are differences in musical cues. Some tracks are different from those in the film
You can never have enough Faltermeyer! One of my last holy grails is the first Fletch score.
What about TOP GUN? A score-only release of that is equally wanted by me, even if useable "unmentionables" exist out there. With the new film coming out this year, that would be an ideal opportunity to release one. But I understand there are all kinds of difficulties "behind the scenes".
No question Top Gun needs a release. We know Lala has it on the back burner so it’s only a matter of time. But Fletch for me is Faltermeyers opus.... such an infectious score from start to finish. The sequel is great but there’s just something about that first score that makes it better. I was so disappointed when Varèse rereleased the original album and I was dumbfounded that they did not take the opportunity to expand it. Pretty sure Lala would have done it but Varèse put the brakes on any expansion.
So, I watched this movie the other night and not having seen it in many years. While watching, I was loving the 80's synth score and knew I had to look it up to see if there was a CD available.
Yes, there was...but of course it is out of print from way long ago and now costs 100 bucks or more on eBay.
LaLa...any chance of a reissue on this since it has been so many years?
