Effective score by Gil Melle, eschewing his electronic pallette for acoustic instruments. This score was on the Oscar shortlist in 1977, although with 20 entries it wasn't that short. This should see a legit release.
Its funny how some terrible films are still fascinating and entertaining. I’d dug this score out again earlier in the week to give it another listen. I’d never really ‘got it’ the first few times Id played it and it ended up back on the pile. Listening again though ive really enjoyed the unusual atmosphere it creates. Its kinda surreal walking along listening to this. Its like being thrown back into a warped version of the 70s. I decided to give the film another go tonight. What a big amazing mess this is. Pretty incredible cast just thrown into a jumbled badly paced and edited film. But… its certainly not boring with some weirdly good moments and a pretty good central idea. Definitely up there in the so bad its good category. The unusual score really gives the film that extra wee something as well. A nice change from todays sound design boredom we get in so many modern horror films.

I'll never look at a partially closed bedroom door at night, and not think a creepy old corpse in boxers will walk out from behind it. As amusing at that sounds, it's a variation of Robert Bloch's "clown at midnight" definition of horror.
