Thor, this series isn't scripted but I enjoy the Travel Channel's "Paranormal Caught on Camera". It's videos from across the world that supposedly capture paranormal moments on camera, whether it be from security cams to cellphones, etc. It is currently showing season 2 now. I get a kick out of it. Some of the vids are obviously, as the Brits would say, bollocks.

But some of the clips...hair raising. The ones that give me shivers are ones that are obviously real happenings that the people involved are truly scared or surprised shitless. Overall the series very entertaining even if many of the shots are questionable at best.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I can't watch such shows because of their sheer stupidity. There's one long-running show in Norway called Ă…NDENES MAKT (roughly translated as THE POWER OF THE SPIRITS), where a host goes to different households in Norway to hear about the 'paranormal activity' going on, and it's just so embarassingly stupid, I want to hide behind a pillow.

I absolutely ADORE paranormal stuff in fiction, but I try to avoid the 'reality' bollocks shows as much as possible.

Much of the clips can be dismissed dismissed and some are just...whatever. But some that I saw, no matter how skeptical...just flat out could not be dismissed. Meaning, there are great gems to be found. I think some of the stuff show can be found on Youtube as well I think. The Bigfoot vids are always grainy and shaky so I dismiss them as flat out ridiculous. But its the hauntings and poltergeist bits that offer the most compelling vids. It's entertaining to say the least.

I got a 2-month HBO subscription, and have discovered a couple of good shows there -- THE OUTSIDER (which is a liimited mini-series, no further seasons planned) and the anthology shows CHANNEL ZERO and ROOM 104.

Also seen SUCCESSION, which was a good non-paranormal show.

All have been added to the list.

Actually, Thor, The Outsider was very popular, so there is some discussion about a season 2. Given the ending, it could happen.

True. I just thought it was a typical Stephen King-ian, downbeat/open ending. I'd certainly be interested in another season. Love that Holly character; again very King-ian -- she's really the show's "Dick Halloran".

SNOWPIERCER has been added to the list. I didn't care much for the film, but I've seen the first episode on Netflix, and it's more rewarding.

Also, DARK suddenly premiered with its third and last season out of the blue. That's fast; I thought it was on hold!

I've added (and finished) the new Netflix series AWAY. I loved the sci fi/Mars expedition part of it, but there's far too much family-schmamily soap opera flasbacks and cross-cutting. What is it with Americans and family obsessions, anyway? I'm thankful for all the space I can have between myself and my family, and never - not even as a kid - needed my parents and siblings around me all the time.

But yeah -- I'm up for a second season about Mars life, if it happens.

Meanwhile, I'm veeeery slowly moving through the third and last season of DARK. I have absolutely no clue about what's going on; it makes TENET look like child's play in comparison. I think I need to rewatch the first two seasons again to make any kind of meaning out of the hyper-complex narrative and character gallery (now not only travelling in time, but across different dimensions as well).

I discovered the FROM DUSK TILL DAWN series on Netflix, and added it to the list. I didn't even know Rodriguez had developped a series out of the film. In any case, started the second season now (out of three), and it's pretty good.

Also added COSMOS: POSSIBLE WORLDS; again, I was not aware that COSMOS: A SPACE-TIME ODYSSEY had received a sequel series.

And in the non-paranormal section, FARGO has started up again. So at least I have these three series to watch at the moment.

Added RAISED BY WOLVES to the list. I'm curious about it, due to the Ridley Scott connection, but also worried that it will be too 'fantasy' for me.

Also the new WALKING DEAD show, WORLD BEYOND, even if I was not sold after the first episode.

I've added the Russian Netflix series TO THE TAKE to the list - appropriately timed for these pandemic times. A lot of it is very contrived, plot-wise, but the look, premise and tension are all appealing.

Added THE STAND to the list, the recent series adaptation of King's work. Although in 2020, it isn't so much science fiction anymore, but everyday life!

I had to jump ship on THE STAND after 4 episodes, but I've added the Japanese Netflix show ALICE IN BORDERLAND to the list. It varies between bizarre and over-the-top melodramatic (not unusual in Japanese fiction), and quite involving mystery on the other, with creative 'games' people have to go through to survive.

Also added SWEET HOME, the Korean monster series on Netflix. Entertaining, but again rather bizarre stuff.

Thor, you may want to check out 30 COINS on HBO if you still have your subscription. To be honest, I didn't care for the first half of the the first episode so I did not finish it, something about the tone of the show put me off. The reviews are overall positive, but it has a less serious and a bit of a bizarre vibe about it. It seems more episodic and X-file ish about it. I may give it a another whirl but not yet.

Thanks for the recommendation, Tom (and sorry I didn't see your post earlier). I'll add it to the list, but from your description, it doesn't sound like something up my alley.

With a relative drought in new shows or seasons, it's time to look at the ones on the list I haven't started yet. I've now begun the Netflix show TRAVELERS, which is OK. Better than the TV series version of 12 MONKEYS, at least, which I had to jump off. I'm aware it was cancelled after 3 seasons, so I don't look forward to the season 3 cliffhanger and hence open ending, but I'll be along for the ride untill then, I think.

Speaking of Korean horror, have you seen the Korean medieval zombie horror show KINGDOM? I for one really enjoyed it, very well made.

No, but I've noticed it on Netflix. I've always had trouble getting into South East Asian genre stuff, but I'll add it to the list.
