"Walking Distance" is very good indeed. My favorite "short" Herrmann score remains "The Lonely" from THE TWILIGHT ZONE. I'm also partial to his HITCHCOCK HOUR scores "Change of Addresss," "Where the Woodbine Twineth," and "The Jar."
I just finished listening to the new Varese Vol 1 cd of Bernard Herrmann's music for The Alfred Hitchcock Hour. Based on what I have heard, I think that we are going to be spoiled absolutely rotten as film music fanatics with incredible new releases of Herrmann music in 2011-2012. I highly recommend buying this release. It's wonderful.
Congratulations to Robert Townsend and the Varese Sarabande team on a great job.

I see that the notes say "This first volume focuses on Herrmann." Which indicates that Volume 2 will feature other composers who contributed to the series.
(Doug Raynes stated last summer)......I see that the notes say "This first volume focuses on Herrmann." Which indicates that Volume 2 will feature other composers who contributed to the series.
I am sure you realize you were wrong about other composers would be on this CD set.
