Anyone here familiar with this?

I have not been exposed to this animated TV series, but apparently there's a lot of demand for its soundtrack to be released - there's a petition going around, which has nearly 14,500 signatures:

Also noteworthy is that the show's music is composed by Jeremy Zuckerman and Benjamin Wynn of The Track Team. La-La Land Records recently released their DC Showcase music on disc, limited to 1000 units.

I'm curious about this!

Exceptional music. Especially for tv animation.
There is a CD I'd by in a heartbeat. The music for the last four episodes was epic.
Should have used these guys instead of JNH for the feature film. And I really like JNH.

I have not seen the feature, so I know nothing of James Newton Howard's contribution.

I have seen this series, which I found quite entertaining on several levels. Indeed, one of its strengths is how it builds on previously established threads to allow them to converge for each season finale. The music is similar; some of the individual elements might seem relatively simple, but by the conclusion of the series their interaction isn't. The very final episode had a different version of the title theme play over the end credits that was very rousing.

Several of the tracks from the series have been floating around online; I really hope that a decent CD presentation with good notes will eventually materialize. The music for Ba-Sing-Se and the four-part series finale are standouts.

I started watching this series and I'm now ten episodes in.

Is there any possibility of this ever seeing a release? I believe Viacom is the owner, who controls both Paramount and Nickelodeon.

I'm thinking the LEGEND OF KORRA music got released mainly on the strength of the composers' work for AVATAR...

I picked this set up on Blu-ray last year and just got around to watching it - will probably finish it tonight. Really enjoy the music on this show too. Would love to see it get a release some day.

I just found this comment from Jeremy Zuckerman from a reddit AMA back in 2013, when fans asked about a release. He wrote the following:

"yes, if the Legend of Korra soundtrack sells well there is a much better chance of the A:TLA soundtrack being released. but everyone will have to patient as it will take a ton of work. we'll have to resurrect all the old sessions which were composed on old computers with obsolete software! would want to re-record some things, too. it will be a big project but i REALLY hope it happens.

Jeremy Zuckerman’s music for the sequel series, The Legend of Korra, was even better (I thought) even though the scripts were not as consistently good as the first. He covered a wider range of musical styles including Big Band and jazz. The musical finale to Season 3 is one of the best examples of television scoring I’ve ever heard.

Looking forward to it! I will probably watch Korra next - have those Blu-rays too. big grin It seems there was only a release of music from Season 1.

Korra’s Season 3/Season 4 arc had the most compelling music for me personally. The scripting hit its stride then too. A two disc set of highlights from Avatar and another two from Korra would be most welcome.

Even though the season 1 score of Korra apparently sold really well, it doesn't look like there is any progress on further music from the show, which is a real shame.

The composer (Jerry Zuckerman) posted quite a number of unreleased tracks on his soundcloud page, for anyone interested. It also includes a gorgeous suite of music from the Avatar the Last Airbender series performed live at "Playfest"

While I have some serious reservations about the upcoming live-action tv version of Avatar, I'm hoping the new show might at least bring some renewed interest to the scores, as Jerry is apparently returning again to compose the music.
