Thanks for this. I'm always fascinated with matching a photo to a voice, particularly for film composers of Moross' generation for whom there doesn't exist much (if any) video material. Incidentally, at the risk of asking a daft question, can someone clarify the pronunciation of 'Jerome'. Is it 'Jeremy', or is the second part pronounced like the Italian city?

It'll be 'Jerome' as in Jerome Kern or St. Jerome, i.e. the second of the your two alternatives. Actually, I've always assumed his surname was Moross as in 'toss', 'boss' or 'floss', but I've heard concert presenters say 'Morose' as in exactly what his music never is. Tell me he's not 'morose'.

Interesting. I always figured it was pronounced like 'Jeremy More-oss', but it looks like I was wrong.

I heard his daughter pronounce the name on a tape of a film music conference once, and as I recall, it is as you originally assumed: Moross as in 'toss', 'boss' or 'floss'
