Fantastic news I am surprised wasn't mentioned yet... or I might have missed it... not one but two CDs containing award winning score for Le Petit Prince will be released in October:

Le Petit Prince - La Symphonie 3/10
Le Petit Prince - Comptines Et Berceuses 17/10

You can already pre-order both at Amazon.FR

http://www.amazon.fr/Petit-Prince-Symphonie-Frederic-Talgorn/dp/B005F1MZ8O/ref=sr_1_4?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1315679096&sr=1-4

http://www.amazon.fr/Petit-Prince--Comptines-Berceuses/dp/B005F1MZ5W/ref=sr_1_5?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1315679096&sr=1-5

With Philippe Rombi's LA GUERRE DES BOUTONS coming 3/10, October will be great and pretty expensive month!! Can't wait!!

So what's the diff between La Symphonie and Comptines et Berceuses?
Has he done a Back To Titanic and re-recorded the music into a symphonic suite, or is it MORE music from the film?
I'm there either way smile

No worry about the delay. The Sony CDs (strategic marketing label) are probably part of the launching of the TV series in germany, then Italy.

what's the difference with the other Petit Prince CD?
is this like those anime soundtracks where you have the film score vs the symphonic suite presentation??

The difference is "Comptines et Berceuses" means "nursery rhymes and lullabies" - and this, in all probability, means that the CD we want is the other one! cool

This was waiting for me when I got home from work tonight (from Amazon France).
There's about 34 mins of score and a song at the end by Yannick Noah!!! (wasn't he a tennis player!!??).
Anyway, what I've heard so far is gorgeous. You know what to expect from Talgorn.
It's probably the score most people were wanting from Tintin.
Talgorn really does write in the style of Williams from his Golden period and this is no different.
It's big, broad orchestral stuff in that exhuberant 80's style.
I think folks are gonna like this one!

Wonderful stuff indeed, too short album.

I've said this quite a number of times : Talgorn is a hidden treasure. With few exceptions (including THE LITTLE PRINCE) He is just not at the right place at the right time.

He won't be scoring the next Asterix and I bet you it's gonna be a hit.

He hasn't been asked to score UNTOUCHABLES (a new comedy from the Nakache / Toledano duo for whom he scored OUR HAPPY DAYS and TELLEMENT PROCHES) and guess what ? it's a mega hit in France (BO results overshadowing Tintin).

I don't see particular connections with Tintin and what people were expecting, The Little Prince is a completely different story.

As far as the Yannick Noah song is concerned, it is used as "Main Titles" for the series.

best

Absolutely right, the "Comptines et Berceuses" doesn't feature music by Frédéric Talgorn, let's say that it is inspired by the TV Series, the composer is a gentleman named Alain Schneider.

"I don't see particular connections with Tintin and what people were expecting, The Little Prince is a completely different story"
-----------------------------------------
Sorry gov, my bad. What I meant was not about any similarity between the two films, it was more about some comments from people in the Tintin thread who don't care as much for Williams' new style and seemed to want him to write the way he did 25 years ago, something Talgorn seems to still be doing. I maybe didn't explain myself so much. smile
