Interesting piece about guy arguing case for Fafdm better than other Leone films
I'm pretty much in agreement with this, FAFDM is probably my favorite Leone film for the reasons the author cites. Is that accurate about the 17 minutes of score?. I know Leone reused some of the music in the film.
I particularly love the final cue before the end title, 'Goodbye Colonel........less than two minutes for the resolution scene as the bodies are counted and Eastwood checks his arithmetic and the Colonel prepares to leave. Sad, introspective cue at least part played on oboe followed by strings and choir. Beautiful.........and perfect.
