BillCharles: Lovely music - and definitely sounds like it would have been right at home on the "More Than a Miracle" soundtrack. Thanks for posting it. And thanks also for the tip about double posting.
Hey stefan, hope youre well. i love this! Its great. Thanks for the utube clip. What can you tell us about this jason piccioni's music label?
I can´t tell you much about that label as I have been surprised myself about the recent MAFIOSO CD. The stereo tapes certainly came from the Piccioni vaults. So we can hope that more scores will be released from there in the near future, but I don´t know about Jason Piccioni´s plans.

That "Primavera" theme from the episode "Emilia Romagna e Marche" of the TV series L´ITALIA VISTA DAL CIELO is really a very close cousin to the Prince Rodrigo theme from MORE THAN A MIRACLE. This music was composed just one year after MORE THAN A MIRACLE in 1968 and you can hear it. If you like the theme, you will get quite a lot of variants of it on the recent Beat CD of L´ITALIA VISTA DAL CIELO. I would therefore recommend you to buy that CD.

Apologies to BillCarson. My head was saying Carson but my fingers were apparently typing Charles.

Very close cousins indeed. I noticed that the Beat Cd is available and was already considering a purchase. Your comments have confirmed my decision. Thanks.

Thanks Stefan. I do wish more labels would release T shirts with their scores! Id have some fantastic t shirts over the years if they had!!
Beckford no prob. Bill charles is probably better!
Is there room for another Piccioni Sordi in my collection after Sono un fenomeno paranormale?
Mafioso doesn't sound like the usual, I wonder how it compares to the El of 2014?
Got mine during this past week, Ag^Janus, and I think this new version of Mafioso is much more satisfying than that "El" disc. The stereo source sound great to me ... and the additional cues reveal the variety within (plus the overall continuity of) this score.
I think you should make room in your collection for this Mafioso!

Mr. Stefan Schlegel, a renewed thank you for your Piccioni recommendation. I received my "Italia Vista dal Cielo" CD in the mail today and I love it. Essential listening for any fan of the music from "More Than a Miracle". So glad to have it in my collection. Now I'm awaiting a second Screen Archives order - the new remastered edition of Rota's "The Taming of the Shrew". That and "More Than a Miracle" are two of my top five favorite scores of all time. Both from the same year. Both from Italy. I love the movies too; saw them repeatedly in movie theaters when they were new. Perhaps you know that initially Sophia Loren (so dazzling in "More Than a Miracle") was to star in both. But as"Taming" evolved she (and Marcello Mastroianni) left the project, with the Burtons eventually taking over. Anyway, I've added "L'italia Vista dal Cielo" to my iPod film score playlist, sequenced immediately after "More Than a Miracle" and "Taming of the Shrew", all set for some delicious musical time travel back to the late 60's. Thanks again.

I can envision Bill Carson wearing a Blue-Eyed Bandit T-shirt.
Yeah quite ironic to walk around wearing a GBU bill carson t shirt, while wearing an eye patch! There was also another italian western where characters are looking at a wanted poster for Bill Carson.
Piero Piccioni's extraordinary song from the excellent giallo, "The Fox With a Velvet Tail." If I'm ever in the unlikely position to choose what kind of musical approach a new James Bond song should take, I would lean in this direction:
Though not at all a specialist of Piccioni unlike Stefan, Wayoutwest, Slint and other contributors to this thread, I'm trying to discover more stuff from his tentacular output. My latest purchase is Saimel's release pairing PECCATO MORTALE (72) together with UN MODO DI ESSERE DONNA (73). I've never seen any of these movies but find it to be a very pleasant album featuring Edda's voice prominently, especially in PECCATO. Highly recommended if you like Piccioni's easy listening side.
Can't say I was waiting for that one to get released but will likely order it, The price of everything is going up sadly will have to wait and see how much it will cost.
Hopefully some more Piccioni titles will be on the way.
