Films Elfman was attached to or rumored to be attached to (that I have found so far): 1992: SCENT OF A WOMAN (not done). [Thomas Newman.] 1997: COMMANDMENTS (TV mini series) [Joseph Vitarelli.] 1999: HOOF BEETS (Later RUNNING FREE) [Nicola Piovani.] THE IRON GIANT [Michael Kamen.] * 2000: AMERICAN PSYCHO [John Cale.] 2002: THE STEPFORD WIVES (back when Tim Burton was going to do the film) 2003: LOONEY TUNES: BACK IN ACTION (Dark Horizons had reported him as the composer). 2004: FINDING NEMO 2007: IN BLOOM (AKA: THE LIFE BEFORE HER EYES) (not done) 2010: GREEN HORNET And of course THE HUNGER GAMES was already mentioned. * = In a 1995 Film Score Monthly interview, this exchange was given between the interviewer and Kamen: I was recently asked to rescore a film that Danny Elfman was working on. They were making deals already for me to come: "Be there and see it and set up times." And I said, "Has anybody told Danny Elfman yet?" They said, "Oh, no...!"
Rejected scores: "Joy" (as previously mentioned), and I was told by somebody who worked on it, "Gattaca". Also, one addition unknown mystery: somebody, I think it was an FSM member, attended some kind of event years ago and there were composers who attended and talked about projects; Philip glass said Elfman had been rejected from a film recently [back then, of course].

It looks like The Iron Giant didn't even find a director until 1996, so I don't know how they could have had a rough cut ready for Kamen to view in 1995. Maybe Elfman was working on Jack or 101 Dalmatians? Or maybe Kamen was thinking of the wrong composer?
