"A new batch of CD Club titles will be announced on May 14!

A little background...

We've realized that we're getting old ... well, if we're not, at least some of our early releases sure are! Next year will be Varèse Sarabande's 35th(!!) anniversary. That means that it's possible that certain titles of ours have been out of print for over two decades! I think it's time to reintroduce a few of these oldies but goodies. As just part of our new CD Club announcement, we will launch the "Varèse Encore" series of long out-of-print titles - newly re-mastered and with updated packaging. These will not be "Deluxe Editions" where we add music to the original track selection. The contents of the "Varèse Encore" CDs will be the same as the original releases, but newly available to a generation (or two) who have never had an opportunity to buy certain titles from any place other than Ebay.

Coming May 14 ... a new batch of releases from the Varèse Sarabande CD Club, which will include the inaugural titles from the Varèse Encore series. See you then!!"

Predator 2!! Please!!

As part of the Varese Club batch maybe it will be the right time for them to release STAR TREK NEMESIS (Deluxe Edition 2cd set)?

I hope we see CHINATOWN & VIBES in the Encore series!

No meant to complain, great news, but.....
There´s many many titles which many of us would like to have expanded as well.
Now if Varése rereleases only original versions, there might be a possiblity we won´t see these titles reappear for a long time.
Let me tell you an example: i own Psycho 2 soundtrack. (which i do) Varese releases same score remastered, everyone will buy it.... And we still don´t have expanded version. I´ve waited years and years for varese to release these titles, but only to have them complete. Remastered sounds excellent, but maybe we need more than that. There´s hardly a label which would release these scores again when people have just bought them, expanded or not.

I generally love vareses output, don´t get me wrong, but i´m worried what´s going to happen with certain titles. Give us expanded versions!!

Varese do not own/control rights to MCA-goodies like PSYCHO 2 anymore.
Same for EARTHQUAKE, EIGER SANCTION, MACARTHUR, THE THING, etc.
Most, if not all, scores will be coming from Intrada and then hopefully/most likely expanded.
Please see the other thread for more info.

Okay, thanks, i didn´t notice there was another thread on the subject.

These are excellent news indeed, no need me to concern anymore.

From Varese's own announcement: "...certain titles of ours have been out of print for over two decades! I think it's time to reintroduce a few of these oldies but goodies....

THE BRIDE, ROMANCING THE STONE, GHOSTBUSTERS and LONELY ARE THE BRAVE have not been out of print for over 20 years. I suspect it's scores like CRIMES OF THE HEART, TAI-PAN, THE SERPENT AND THE RAINBOW that are covered by this Encore banner, rather than recent Club releases.
