Did I catch you all snoozin'?

It was the clips that did it. But the superb Scott/Kong clips soon woke me up again.

What the hell? We've been going on about tedious movie songs by overrated British singers and THIS comes out? Wow!

an unholy grail filled - the opening can still raise the hackles. Didnt realize there was so much music in it, not to mention the extras (wish we could preview a few).

Surprised there's not more feedback on this release.
I've been waiting for this for nearly 40 years.
Love the score and the movie! ORDERED!

Doug's writeup sold me on this - never really was wowed by this atonal western,
even though I love that stuff, but must here the big orchestral cues that were
rejected now. THAT is how you write a sales pitch, labels.

I never thought this one would get released. The actual score didn't sell me, but the description and samples of the unused tracks did.

Anyone know how to administer CPR to your wallet. It's been a helluva week in film score land. First King Kong - now this.

Incredible release. One of the year's very best for me. I've always loved this score.

Many thanks Intrada.

Ordered......of course!

40 years I've waited for this, I couldn't believe it when I saw it on Intrada's website this morning.

One of my all time "Grails", never thought it would be released, but now thanks to Intrada it has.

The new people buying soundtrack don't know the film nor the score.
Besides, the score is experimental and weird like a horror film.
I ordered it on the spot. It's a rare release. It's one of my holy grail.
It's very good news because Intrada was allowed to negociate with Malpaso,
meaning more Eastwood-related scores to come.

I think it is a horror film (revenge from beyond the grave ghost story) - although some just see it as a western. Just in time for Halloween.

Odd, Intrada doesn't mention the name of the liner notes author on the website.
I guess it's The Stranger! wink

"High Plains Drifter" is the last of the four fantastical and shadowy film scores from the early 1970's for a Clint Eastwood film.
See "The Beguiled" (unreleased) and "Dirty Harry" by Lalo Schifrin and "Play Misty for Me" (unreleased) by Dee Barton.
Let's hope the gate of Malpaso is wide opened for more.

Never seen the film and thus never heard the score. Listening to the samples I am blown away. What an unusual score. Great music. Instantly ordered. Boy has filmmusic changed frown

Always despised the ugliness of the film, but the score is a delight.
