Here are some (imagined) track titles, that I composed, when transferring the Horner score to my mp3 player..

1. Verona/The Brawl
2. Montague's
3. Capulet's
4. The Party/The Kiss
5. The Ceremony/The Duel (Romeo Kills Tybalt)
6. Banishment/Juliet's Sadness
7. Romeo Goes To Juliet
8. The Wedding Night
9. Friar Laurence
10. A Death Like Sleep
11. Juliet's Funeral
12. Romeo's Grief
13. Our Love Is Like The Wind
14. Eternal Lovers Sleep

I need to come up with some Horner-style track titles for this.

Track 12 is undoubtedly "Two lives forever ended, one love forever lasting"

Haha, yes, I did think of using more verbose track titles, but decided to keep it more Goldsmith wink

Kind of a "Greatest Horner Hits" compilation. For anyone who has not previously heard Glory, The New World or Sneakers, this score might be a revelation. However -- and this comes from a fan -- this might be the single-most derivative score from the most self-referential composer in the history of film scores. There are very few previously-unsampled note combinations to be found within any of these 68 minutes. Even the main theme is just a familiar, uninspired up-note, down-note melody. Forget "Romeo and Juliet"; a better title for this score might be "The Brief Glory of the Bicentennial New World Deeper Impact of the Pelican Sneakers... umm, Danger."

Track 1 has to be "A Verona So Fair".

Many listenings so far, It's growing on me very quickly.

"Horner's Greatest Hits" for sure, but I still admire the Maestro techniques, letmotivs, melodies.

The main theme song "Our Love is like the wind" in the voice of Sissel is a pure joy.

I Hope "Spectral Shimmers" will be the true Swan Song of Horner, but meanwhile this is a birthday gift.

Starting at 53:36 which underscores Romeo and Juliet's funeral is truly powerful and then going straight into the beautiful End Title Song is superb. Maestro Horner was amazing!

Another candidate for Intrada's 27-8 release?

That would be amazing, but is the Korzeniowski score long enough to require 2CDs, in complete form? The Horner score would clearly only require a single disc, and Roger's clues say there are three total.

Depends how much Horner actually recorded... especially considering he was writting SECOND score (or at least doing revisions), while Korzeniowski was doing his...

But if only we were this lucky...

Perhaps even THE ORVILLE S3 would be great.. but S2 would deserve 3CDs a little bit more than current season... but that's probably not happening either way...

It would only require a single disc if it were incomplete and edited down, like that leak was.

Second score, hardly.

Revisions, absolutely.

You seem to know how long Horner’s complete Romeo & Juliet score is! How many minutes over 80, if you don’t mind my asking?

Without all the revisions it’s barely beyond the 80 minute mark.

And indeed I am fully aware that you and anyone else who reads this could assume I’m doing nothing more than talking out of my arse but it serves no purpose to do so.

(EDIT: my phone typed 'behind' instead of the intended 'beyond')

Good to know, thanks. I wonder how long the complete Korzeniowski score is.

On that I don't know, but I would imagine he scored what was released theatrically so whatever was left off that album is what's left. I wouldn't think there would be any alternates or revisions to such a last-moment recording.

My take on that score is that it functions better as standalone music than as film score for the visuals. It made the film come across like one of those overly saccharine Hallmark romance melodramas.
