I have both the Inrada and LaLaLands CDS of Jerry Fielding's great score of The Mechanic. I can't tell much difference in them. Intrada's is longer by over a minute I think. I wanted to ask forum members to post which one they prefer and also note the differences between the two and compare the audio quality of the two. All posts are welcome!

Thanks!

Robert

Only the Intrada CD of THE MECHANIC is in my collection.

Or I should state that I don't own La La Land's issue, as I also have the Bay Cities suite of THE MECHANIC as well.

I consider the liner notes by Lukas Kendall for Intrada's MECHANIC to be of the highest quality.
Can't imagine the liner notes by Randall Larson for the La La Land edition could possibly surpass Kendall's definitive writing.

For the folks who own La La Land's re-issue - what do you think it?

DID anyone who has the Intrada release double dipped for the re-release? The Intrada sound is superb and as I have said before on this tired olde boarde, Lukas' liner notes are excellent.

There isn't a thread with a discussion about the score *and* film--surprise, surprise--but it would be nice if the four and a three quarter Fielding fans on this forum moved their wheelchairs around the fireplace and talked about it. I'll watch The Mechanic later this week and be brave and post some semi-coherent thoughts as well as copying and pasting my ancient chestnuts to get things going.

Got an extra, sealed copy of the German Blu-ray of THE MECHANIC, if anyone is interested in purchasing. Looks very nice.

When La La announced their release last year, they said:

Aside from some audio enhancements, a slightly different track order and new packaging and liner notes, the audio content is the same as the Intrada release, so this re-issue is geared for fans who do not currently own that previous release.

No real sound difference, even liner notes look tremendously alike (very same pictures).

Indeed a great score - I have only recently come across it and love every second of it.
