Frank Devol wrote an excellent score for "Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?" I would love to see a release on CD. I wonder if it's possible. Are you listening, Kritzerland or others?
Doesn't anybody remember the Intrada release (now out of print?). The Hammond Novachord manipulations in this score are absoultely magnificent. It would make a great pairing with that other Grand Guigol women's film directed by Robert Aldrich that also starred Bette Davis and scored by DeVol, "Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?"
I thought I heard or read from someone in the business that the tapes were lost or in horrible shape or something. Maybe I'm miss remembering, but I could have sworn it was something like that meaning we won't get it. Looks like a re-recording is the only way

I think you're thinking of "Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte" - which was released by Intrada, and which, since I missed out on it, I would maim to see a reissue released. Tremendous music.
Anyway, "Baby Jane" is a marvelous score, too - DeVol is fairly underrated when it comes to his more dramatic scoring (another poster above mentioned "Kiss Me Deadly" which has some really great music throughout) - and that's a shame, because it's just as good and indelible as his well remembered comedy music.

Confirmed you were right regarding hush hush. Kiss me deadly was not released by Intrada and only title appears in crime scene USA (uk) compilation. Confirmed by soundtrackcollector.com.
In addition to the 1964 follow-up ("Hush ... Hush, Sweet Charlotte"), there is also a 1964 satire inspired by "Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?" entitled "Che Fine Ha Fatto Toto' Baby?" (which I don't recall ever being mentioned here @ FSM even though its Armando Trovajoli soundtrack has been released via Digitmoves around 18 months ago).
I got this CD in Sept. '14 and was quite impressed how wild Trovajoli's music score was considering the year it was written. I typically bypass soundtracks from comedies but I'm glad to have picked this one up. Here within is the obligatory lightweight passages for woodwinds that the genre had frequently relied upon and the main & end titles are done in a vapid 'ye ye' pop music vein. However, this Italian Toto' cinema vehicle also contains psychotic killings, a corpse in a suitcase trunk and marijuana smoking - and Trovajoli responded to these aspects with some very contemporary and psychedelic sounding music. The celesta and electric guitar portions of "Toto' Baby" got themselves recycled into Mario Bava's 1966 "Operazione Paura" (aka "Kill, Baby, Kill") - I kid you not!
Anyways, I injected this item into this thread hoping to alert some folks about this under-discussed Baby Jane crossover area which likely slipped past most fans' radar...
The problem with all these potential pairings is that the films are all controlled by different studios: WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE? by Warners, HUSH...HUSH, SWEET CHARLOTTE by Fox, and KISS ME DEADLY by MGM.
One possibility is to reissue Fox's HUSH...HUSH, SWEET CHARLOTTE paired with the Fox/DeVol MURDER, INC. (1960). But that has an old LP on the rare Canadian American label to contend with.
Another would pair MGM's KISS ME DEADLY with the MGM/DeVol ATTACK! (1956), but finding either of those scores in the MGM/UA vaults is a long shot.
