A grail for me too. I really hope MV/LLL picks up the Waxman baton again and tackles this plus The Spirit of St. Louis which they also said they were pursuing at one point. Yavar

When this thread was bumped, I glanced on over to my CD shelf, and wouldn't you know it -- AGAIN I seem to have traded off or sold my old, Bernstein-conducted RCA/BMG album with the SAYONARA suite. Damnit! Thankfully, I still have it in digital file form, but small consolation. And here I was, earlier in the thread, saying that that album was fine enough for me in terms of this score. Anyways, I would still condone a new re-recording. Even make it longer than the suite (but not by THAT much, please). And yes -- of course I would love a re-recording of THE SPIRIT OF ST. LOUIS too. Had that on a shoddy format once, on CD-R, and the sound qualilty was so poor, I trashed it.

I am all in on The Spirit of St. Louis. I think if the film had been better received and Lindbergh's political leanings had not subsequently come more into focus, more attention would be given to this score.

I also love this score and hope it will get released. The suite is a nice bonus to have, but it's hardly a substitute for a proper, new release of the entire score.

An 'unofficial' 30-track version of the full score is currently on YouTube. Leslie Yes, that's the boot that came out in the early 90s. I have it. It's in stereo and mono. Someone obviously got a copy duped (and I mean DUPED from the session masters) - so, they existed at that time. Knowing how things have worked in the past, RCA probably has the three-track master for the LP and occasionally they'd have all the missing music, too.
