Beautiful and somehow confidential movie considering its cast. I saw it once 30 years ago and never got the chance to see it again. A very slow yet entertaining narration. And that funny contest in which Bob Mitchum is beaten by an old pipe smoking man !
And those two are obviously in good shape despite the fact of having spent so long time on a desert island !

Yes, it is a beautiful lyrical film with wonderful supporting performance by Peter Ustinov. It was odd, but Mitchum and Kerr always seemed to be a perfect fit.
