"Love is for the Very Young" was Raksin's own title for his piece - when Dory Langdon Previn later wrote lyrics for it, she retitled the song "The Bad and the Beautiful." It's a very nice lyric, with a distinctly world-weary bent to it, though I still prefer thinking of it as a wordless "siren song," as Raksin had originally written it.

It is also interesting how many variations there are to something like LAURA featuring covers using photos of various band leaders like Tommy Dorsey and Woody Herman. Definitely film music promotion from another area. And undoubtedly a contributing factor to the enduring popularity of a film theme from 69 years ago.
