A fair amount of Geoffrey Burgon's classical works are available in sheet music. Unaware of anything on THEN TRUMPETS FADE or any of his other film/TV work being available in print form. His score to THE DOGS OF WAR is outstanding. A very underrated composer in film music circles. Was not familiar with WHEN TRUMPETS FADE nor Burgon's church pieces. Just picked up CDs of both based on your recommendations. Thank you.

In answer to your question, the song in THE DOGS OF WAR was "Epitaph on an Army of Mercenaries" sung by Gillian McPherson with music by Geoffrey Burgon with lyrics from a poem by A.E. Housman. To our knowledge, there was no sheet music released of it. The music book "BRIDESHEAD REVISITED PLUS FIVE TV THEMES BY GEOFFREY BURGON" contains the following: "Theme from Testament of Youth," "Nunc Dimittis-Theme from Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy," "Theme from Brideshead Revisited," "Theme from Bleak Houe,' "The Old Wives' Tale- Theme from Sophia and Constance," and "Aslan's Theme from The Chronicles of Narnia." We have also come across sheet music from the TV miniseries "JOHN GALSWORTHY'S THE FORSYTE SAGA (Irene's Song-Theme from)
