Hopefully next Volume of Delerue's TV stuff is coming as well... but it has been pretty much confirmed they are also working on La Revolution Francaise too.
or some previously unreleased Philippe Rombi score would be greatly appreciated too...

Of Michel Magne's scores, I only know and have heard "Les Miserables" (1982). Which is one of the treasures of my collection.

Side-story: I first heard this score in a little used-CD shop in Leeds, UK. (I seem to remember it was underneath a trainline.) I was immediately taken by the melancholic choir of the first track. I didn't purchase the CD that day (my good friend Jon Broxton did). Coincidentally and fortunately, I didn't have to search for another copy of this CD for very long (back in 2003), because I subsequently found and purchased it in another used-CD shop, this time in Munich, Bavaria, for reasonable money.

Is there a good Magne compilation out there that's worthwhile going after? If not, another score like "Les Miserables" that the Knowledgables among you would recommend?

For the fourth time: ta! smile

PS: The bottle of Raspberry Liqueur is now empty...

Hi Christian

I would strongly recommend you to give the following Ecoutez Le Cinema cd's a try as a starter. They offer a wide variety of his musical styles, the stand out scores for me are for the ANGELIQUE series (great symphonic scores), the wonderful choral theme to MELODIE EN SOUS-SOL, the lyrical melancholy score to DON JUAN 1973 on the Vadim compilation and the very catchy score to the Terence Young movie COLD SWEAT (DE LA PART....):
