My favorite has to be CHALLENGE TO BE FREE, 1976. Story about a mountain man who is wrongfully accused of murdering a Canadian Mountee (named Frenchy) and retreats to the mountain wilderness, only to be blasted out with dynamite! Very effective use of BAD stock footage from MUTUAL OF OMAHA'S WILD KINGDOM (Or Thereabouts)

ANZALDIMAN and I give it a THUMBS UP - If you are guzzling down a bottle of scotch, that is.

Truly gau Jus
Ed

Is he the same guy who played the limo driver on Hart to Hart? (I'm ashamed to say that I've seen some of those) frown

SIS: The chauffer, Max, in HART TO HART was played by Lionel Stander. For some whatever reason, the one role I always remember of Mike Mazurki's was in GILLIGAN'S ISLAND where a mad scientist puts Mike's mind in Ginger's body. I guess that gives a new twist to the question of "Ginger or Mary Ann?"

JIM CLEVELAND: GILLIGAN'S ISLAND is one of my guilty pleasures. Speaking of Ginger (Tina Louise), I read a book by the creator of the series. He did little to hide his animosity towards Tina because she felt she was a thespian and that GI was beneath her and ruined her chance of being recognized as a real actress. She was very disruptive filming the series. She and Bob Denver, in paricular, had little love for each other. Denver's dressing room was next to hers so he could hear what was going on inside. He said she did it like a rabbit. Tina, sensing Denver was shy and naive around women, used to sexually embarrass him on the set. On the flip side, Jim Backus and Alan Hale, Jr. were universally liked and admired by everyone, professionally and personally.

To quote Mazurki's character in the wonderful Philip Marlowe detective drama, MURDER, MY SWEET (RKO 1945):

"If only I had've knew."

The last guy you'd want to meet in a dark alley or a bad dream, the tire-tread-faced former football player and pro wrestler (1909-1990) was, in fact, a college graduate (Manhattan College, Bronx, NY).

If only we had've knew.

If I remember correctly---the Professor and Mary Ann exchanged minds, the Skipper and Mr. Howell exchanged minds, Gilligan and Mrs. Howell exchanged minds, and Ginger and Mike.

Now, if Mike had exchanged bodies with Anna Nicole Smith, nobody would've noticed the difference...

A three hour tour and 40 years of non stop mind numbing re-runs...

SIS: Humor us. We saw the show as young kids. The show's about a bunch of guys stranded on a desert island with Ginger and Mary Ann. Surely you have your tv "guilty pleasures"?

Of course! I have plenty. How about "It Takes a Thief"? with Robert Wagner? I loved that show and watched re-runs whenever they were on.

I was a Beavis and Butthead fan and paid money at the movies to see their film. I also watch South Park and have even rented the movie "Uncut". Amazing huh? I am not a youngster and could biologically have grandkids by now.

...and how about Anna Nicole? smile I sneak a peek at that now and then, although I hardly call that "reality" tv. I think it's a big scam.

SIS: You watch Anna Nicole's tv show? Ginger NEVER stripped naked to inherit Thurston Howell's millions (although I can't comment on what Mrs. Howell did).

Maybe Ginger never stripped, but I think Mrs. Howell was quite feisty in her day!
wink
