My simple question is, as I stated, what is it all about?? What message in the "lingo" and fashion are they trying to get across?? Even in the tame by comparison rebellious 60's,and 70's, we could at least understand what the young people were saying when they spoke. I'm not afraid to address what this is all about...These kids were not even alive(or they were still pooping their diapers) to see Andre Dawson in an Expos uniform from the late 70's..(I'll bet they can't quote ANY of his stats, and does the kid wearing the jersey in the video know who Dawson is??) )And does the rapper wearing the Bill Buckner Cubs baby blue "22" old pinstripe jersey know who Buckner is?? What's the deal with this culture?? What is the "statement" these "kids" are making?? Can you fill me in?? I'd really like to know that...They can buy anything, speak any way, or wear anything they wish, hey, it's America, and English is on the way out anyway. But that's not the issue of the topic..The issue is, why the old jerseys, and what "significance" does it have for these young people... You don't see them in a Cal Ripkin jersey, or a Derek Jeter jersey, or EVEN a Barry Bonds jersey in these videos...They are wearing old polyester jerseys from the late 70's, and 80's... From a time when they were toddlers, or before they were born..Kids wearing old Baltimore Bullets jerseys!! (I guess I can understand that name, and location change.)Joe, I see your point, I guess I just needed to vent..
