Yes, the site has been acting funny all weekend, and data from last week (from 3/23-28) is missing of this writing. This is especially bad timing due to the passing of the great Maurice Jarre, which is spiking traffic and, of course, an emotional moment for us who adore his work.

To make a long story short, the database on which the site runs got corrupted, and our hosting service and programmer had to restart the site with the last non-corrupted version of the database. They will restore the "lost" data from backups manually in the next day or so. Bloggers, please do NOT repost anything as we have it all, it's just not live at the moment.

Additional downtime may be required so be prepared! Imagine Maurice's parallel tritones as underscore. Thanks and hang in there.

Absolutely. I hope the missing posts turn up soon, as I enjoyed some excellent conversation with all the FSM "rowdies." ;)

Is he listening to "You're a Foolish Man, Mr. Flint"?

Thanks for the shot of nostalgia...

Lukas,

Are we any closer to getting the missing data restored? I've done a lot of data restorations and it usually doesn't take this long, but I know with some applications it can get more complicated than usual to properly restore things to their original working order.

Just wondering, not pestering!

Mark

All right. As long as it's not this guy . . .

The problem is that we have a hosting guy and a programming guy and the hosting guy had to leave town and the programming guy still needs to talk to him. If only there was some sort of phone that was, I don't know...mobile...like a mobile phone...so that someone could be reached while mobile...oh well.

Lukas

Hmm . . . you mean something like this?
