My hopes: LLL will make some releases in 2014 - with music of max steiner, franz waxman or miklos rozsa Better yet, how about a Lukas Kendall-produced, Jim Titus-designed, definitive historic release of all remaining Korngold Warner Bros. material? Yavar

Though I suppose the label is still officially on vacation until Monday. Why don't we let the people at La La Land enjoy the last few days of their Christmas/New Year vacation?

To be honest, this constant speculation is wearying. As MV says, they come out when they come out. Amen.

To be honest, this constant speculation is wearying. As MV says, they come out when they come out. Amen. What he said a billion squillion times over. There are only two things that are guaranteed: 1. Somebody'll hate it. 2. Somebody'll love it. Agreed. He's probably doing this for two reasons: 1) Your guess is as good as mine probably means that the release schedule has ended up not being what he expected due to delays (of multiple causes). Case in point is his plan for a huge WB anniversary release which ended up being a flop due to artwork and other approvals not coming through from the composer or studios in a timely manner. I know his Black Friday release slate was up in the air until fairly close to release time for those reasons. 2) The above mentioned reasons of someone will love it and someone will hate it, threads will be created about it, and all the needless bitching and whining that goes on here and elsewhere. Besides, MV drops numerous breadcrumbs of clues throughout the year.

Composer Rosenman provides the film with a complex musical foundation that propels the action narrative into the dramatic unknown, while keeping character, theme and emotion at the forefront. Long out of print, this wondrous soundtrack masterpiece returns, with no new tracks added, but with much improved sound, (lovingly restored by Mike Matessino), and wonderful new liner notes by film music writer Julie Kirgo. Produced by Lukas Kendall and Nick Redman and mastered by Daniel Hersch, this limited edition release of 2000 Units features all-new, eye-catching art direction courtesy of Jim Titus. Composer Doyle goes Herrmann Big, crafting an intricate and robust orchestral score that is the melodic lifeblood that courses through the veins of Branagh’s twisty-turny Hitchcockian past-lives mystery thriller. Clocking in at over 78 minutes, this presentation greatly expands beyond the film’s initial soundtrack release, even adding original score material that was cut from the finished film! Produced by Dan Goldwasser and mastered by Doug Schwartz, this expanded release, limited to 2000 units, does one of the 90’s most notable scores long overdue justice. Exclusive, in-depth liner notes from film music writer Brian Satterwhite takes you behind the movie and its music, while Dan Goldwasser’s art design captures the film’s attractive gothic flair. The way it reads, the two CD sets are premier releases, as the last is noted as an expanded reissue. It certainly does read that way. Curious what they could be.

Britany Spears' Greatest Hits. Over two hours of Godawful music spread across two CD's. Now you can hit it again, baby -- one more time.

Empire of the Sun is one of my all-time favorite films and scores, but there's really not that much missing from the original CD. A.I., on the other hand (for me, the greatest score of the new century) absolutely demands an expanded/complete release -- the original release barely scratches the surface.
