We're slowly going through the Young stuff now - some we just have a handful of cues, while others there's quite a bit of, but some of the noirs are definitely there.

I just remembered that Haineshisway has already given us a CD with some music from Appointment With Danger.
There were a couple of cues featured in Kritzerland's "I Married a Monster From Outer Space".

Ordered a short time ago. I'm looking forward to purchasing all the Victor Young music that Kritzerland can provide! Just been listening to Sabrina again, love all the Frederick Hollander music on this disc, another excellent Kritzerland release, great work Bruce!

Niall, glad to see you are buying this Victor Young CD.

I thought with your "prolonged absence" from this board you are now into only rock "music" ! smile

This will be a "fun" listen for me. I haven't seen any of these three films. The sound samples are so good, that I'm looking forward to at least a couple of listens when the CD arrives.

And there are three more scores to come! All are automatic buys.

That's exciting news Bruce. Hope some westerns survive too. I would think film noir and westerns would help sell the CDs. ALL Victor Young is welcomed! smile

An idea: Why not put the handful of cues that survive from some of the Young films on CDs as bonus tracks?

For our final feature, we have September Affair, a 1950 film starring Joseph Cotton

Does it feature his singing performance of Cashmere ?

Hi Niall. When "Victor Young at Paramount" was announced, it took you nearly 24 hours to respond! Perhaps the forthcoming Saint Paddy's Day is on your mind?

Just kidding ...... Peter smile

I have no idea Niall. I read in a book on Irish ancestry that Dublin had a fire around 1910 (?) and many records were destroyed. Does that sound right? Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise. Maybe I come from a long line of Irish horse thieves and road bandits? smile

I'm playing Luck of the Irish right now. Did you get your copy yet?

Not for a couple of weeks for sure.

I haven't gotten the dealer orders yet so it's hard to tell - our website sales have been pretty decent for this one.

Thanks for the update Bruce. Victor Young is one of my favorite composers. I can't thank you enough for this CD and hopefully more in the future.

In the meantime I have lots to listen to including O. Henry's Full House / Luck of the Irish! smile

Victor Young was undoubtedly the king of the "Reign of Paramount", in music, in the same way Newman, Rozsa and Steiner were the kings of the Three Reigns of Fox, MGM and Warner Bros.
Having been much less celebrated on record than these colleagues, I hope, Bruce, that your effort in resurrecting interest for Young will continue beyond the four releases in the current year and will start a politic of completeness toward this great composer, on Kritzerland, filling the gap.
Young's dramatic and western scores are "first rate" in themes, rhythm, orchestral texture, and I greet with joy this new release, with these first 3 scores.
Nothing to say, about the (unknown) titles that will follow, and anything is welcome. But for westerns, Young spoke in a special way to our ear, and I remain hopeful to see released, along with other interesting works, in one of the next three CDs, at least DRUM BEAT. Is there hope?
