I guess it will be a new Adele song - and it will be revealed as part of her next album coming next fall. That´s why they keep quiet for now.

Looks like you nailed it:

That's a shame - I thought Skyfall, the song and Adele's rendition of it, were appauling.

So dang glad your not in charge of song selections for the James Bonds Series. Adele would of not have gotten her Grammy, and Oscar.

Not always a sign of quality.

Maybe I'm the only one, but Adele's Bond song - musically - reminded me a lot of the wonderful Diana Ross song "Did You Read the Morning Paper," albeit inferior in every way. Until Adele is 100% confirmed I'm still thinking that Lana Del Rey might be in the mix for "Spectre" (not because she'd be better, just because it makes a lot of sense that she'd be considered, at least more than any other hugely popular contemporary pop star).

Oh, Skyfall wasn't "appalling" , just, for me, not too memorable. Now there HAVE been awful Bond songs, Man With The Golden Gun maybe the worst ever. Skyfall was a success no doubt, but not one of my favorites.

My feeling for Adele's song for Skyfall is very simple.

Neither one of the best Bond songs, nor one of HER best songs. Either way you cut it (and she was pretty good with that breakthrough album/singles etc), this was lacklustre. Not rubbish. But not much to celebrate either.

I'm sorry. But Goldfinger???!! You Only Live Twice??!! Thunderball??!! We Have All the Time in the World??!! Even Live and Let Die (it was at least ONE Beatle!!), or Nobody Does it Better???

And the Oscar goes to Skyfall?? What a joke!!

Has anyone sung more than one Bond back to back? Has anyone other than Bassey done more than one?

I loved Skyfall, so I'm really OK with this.

No one has ever sung two Bond songs back-to-back, so if Adele does, it will be a first.

Bassey did of course sing the first recorded version of Mister Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, when that was going to be the theme song for THUNDERBALL. But, we all know what happened there...

Shirley Bassey sang one bond song back to back : for Goldfinger and then Thunderball, but the song (supposedly to be used over the end titles) was dropped for reasons well explained in Jon Burlingame's book : The Music of James Bond (page 55)

Stephen, wasn't Dionne Warwick the first to record "Mr Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" ?

Significant money being staked at bookmakers on Radiohead.

Either some people have lost a lot of money or Goulding is part of Eon diversinary tactics (or both)

If I was waging £15K, I'd like to think it was a sure thing. Radiohead could come up with something pretty interesting though, Goulding would seem a 'safer' choice. She's not my cup of tea, but I guess she's popular at the moment. Apparently the song is called, erm 'SPY'...

Or they could have just used a-ha again. Their new song sounds scarily 'Bond-like'...

And in breaking news, four different UK bookmakers (William Hill, Ladbrokes, Coral and Paddy Power) have all suspended betting on this topic.

According to a spokesman for William Hill: "Nobody risks £15,000 on a hunch".
