I will let spill now that back in the early 80's I got hear the Alfred Newman Collection tapes that included this title. I've since missed the song "Nobody" and have longed to hear it again.

Now it's possible!* In just over 30 years!

And the sound is really swell. Swing music fans will love this.

I hope that I can order this along with a couple of titles from the "emergency" list that HHW posted about recently. I will send him an email again about them.

(or is it? I don't see it listed as having a vocal credit, only a title. Hmm.)

It's a vocal. I didn't credit the vocalist because there was no paperwork (the others were easy to figure out). I believe I know who it is and I say that in the notes and I'm fairly certain I'm right about it.

I seem to remember it being uncredited in the Newman tapes, too.

I've ordered my copy, plus another title from the emergency stock!

I am looking forward to this one. I have the 20th Century Fox Film Scores release of this. Is this a legitimate release? It is NOT the Tsunami-like release that is floating around eBay and Amazon. I just hope mine is legit. Anyone?

That was the first release for the score - twenty years ago. It's been OOP forever and this is complete, which that isn't, this is better sound and we have additional bonus tracks.

I hadn't heard of the movie or soundtrack until this set was announced, but since I've been enjoying some swing and big band music lately, I went ahead and watched it the other day, and man, it's one helluva show. Just one great number after another. Most definitely ordered!

Happy to say that we're getting these is REALLY early, on Monday, and they will ship. It's sad, in a way, that so many film score fans pass on these incredible Fox musical soundtracks. That's why no one did them for years and years - we picked up the baton and wish there was more support for them. Fortunately, some of the slack is picked up by our musical theater fans, but you will never hear the likes of this kind of material again - the orchestrations, the bands, the singers, the underscore.

"Stormy Weather" is such a miracle and is one of the great Hollywood musicals of the World War II era, among so many other distinctions, when the Big Band sound was supreme in wartime United States popular culture.

So awful that the original tracks for the wartime musical "Cover Girl" (with sumptuous Jerome Kern songs and Oscar-winning musical scoring by Saul Chaplin/Morris Stoloff, etc.) may be lost forever in a deep land fill.

But, happily, thanks to Kritzerland, a new CD for "Stormy Weather" as well as the immediately post-wartime "Centennial Summer" exist in definitive albums!

And see the film! It's wonderful (I rented it through Amazon since I'd not seen it before). And it should sell you on this release - worth every penny.

Sadly the Twilight Blu-ray of COVER GIRL does not include an isolated score track.

Can't wait for STORMY WEATHER, hope more Fox musicals can be issued!

Can't wait for this to arrive!

You put out some of the best material Bruce, and even though I'm not always able to order all of it I love seeing what you're bringing out.
