There's still around 72 minutes on the CD, and those bonus tracks are about an extra 18 minutes worth. Indeed, even the CD, with the 72 minute runtime, is the most music a GoT album release has ever received. I'm overjoyed, frankly.

So, how you would guys rate the previous albums for GOT against each other? I only recently started purchasing them, starting with the albums for seasons, 3, 4 and 5. Being a completist, I'll eventually pick up seasons 1 and 2 on disc, but how do they rank against 3, 4 and 5? Hi Tom. Well, you should definitely pick up the seasons 1 and 2 scores, as they show a great progression and furthering of Djawadi's themes as reflected in the later seasons. They're both a great listen, but I think I'm a slightly bigger fan of the seasons 3 through 5 scores. Being an avid watcher of the show, it's extremely difficult for me to separate the scene from the music, and judge the music on its own merit, but the music is indeed wonderful. Suffice to say that if you enjoyed that of seasons 3, 4, and 5, you won't be disappointed. To me, the season 1 is "just" good, and season 2 is really where Djawadi starts to shine and knocks the proverbial ball out of the park. I can't wait for season 6's music to be released! Edit: For whatever reason, season 1's music always seemed a little more atmospheric and ambient than that of the later seasons. But here's what I think are representative sample tracks from each season's score. Hope this helps, my friend! Season 1: Winter is Coming, Jon's Honor, King of the North Season 2: What Is Dead May Never Die, House of the Undying, Mother of Dragons

I will certainly check out those tracks from those albums.

Well then. That was by far the best-scored episode of the entire series thus far, and it would be true if only for the brilliant opening sequence. I'd buy an album of just this episode alone. well your in luck then as it's pretty well represented on the season 6 album. was listening all day, often stopping to repeat tracks and low and behold a good number from tonight's episode. ramin did a great job with this season, no question. Came here to post exactly the same thing. By the end of tonight's episode I was thinking to myself I could do with a CD of all the music just in this one episode. Fantastic stuff. The music was just gorgeous. That's great to hear the episode is well represented on the season 6 album.

This is the best thing Djawadi has ever done, by far. I had no idea he had this in him. This should silence the naysayers (and I was one, lamenting that Stephen Warbeck didn't stay with the series). I agree it could sustain its own CD in complete form. I just hope he keeps up this level of quality for the rest of the show. Best episode of the show too, for that matter. Every bit at technically brilliant as its predecessor by the same director, but far superior (and less predictable) in terms of plot/story. Yavar

Totally agree. The music in that opening sequence blew me away. Not only was it interesting musically but it really drove the scene forward and gave it such delicious tension. My favourite piece of music in the entire series so far. As far as I can tell, it's not on the S6 album, sadly, although there's plenty of other great score music on it.

Slightly off topic: Is there a comprehensive list/thread somewhere that lists all the track names from each of the CD releases along with brief descriptions of the eps/scenes the music underscores? The Wikipedia page for the Game of Thrones soundtracks outlines what episodes and scenes the tracks are from, although some of the listings are a little strange (whomever did it doesn't make a distinction between cues as heard in the show and on the album, and thematic material).
