There is more than enough Star Wars product clogging the market. If there needs to be a proper reissue of a 1970s John Williams score, it should be SUPERMAN.
I think it should be Eiger Sanction. (Yes, Superman should get a standalone release.)
Alliance Assembly is great, despite its dogshit sound quality. In 1997, hearing this for the first time was a good precursor to The Lost World theme!
It's a pretty good precursor to Saying Goodbye / The Rescue Operation from Always.
Back in The Day I was annoyed that Rebel Briefing wasn't that. Mainly I wanted those trumpet stings from when we cut from Luke and Ben to the Fleet. But the music from Mon Mothma's announcement that the Emperor will be on the Death Star until Han gives Lando the Falcon is good too. Not particularly thematic, but good moody underscore. Kind of the 1983 equivalent to Ben sneaking around the Death Star in Star Wars. And I was annoyed that it wasn't on the 1993 box.
I want to know if there is any official reason provided by the actual product in question, not just some assumption that any of us would easily come up with on our own--however logical or obvious that assumption may be.
Ummm... what I told you wasn't an assumption. It was a fact.
So I own the box set from a couple years ago, and the four disc STAR WARS TRILOGY from 1993. Do these new remastered cds have any material not on what I own? I'm sorry if it's been asked before, but I'm not that smart.

I was in our HMV the other week, when these babies got released by Disney, and they had about 6 or 7 copies of each score priced at £5.99 or two for £10.00. I went back in today and there was one copy of Attack of the Clones and two Phantom Menaces' left. Say what you like about these bubba's, but they're deffo shifting in the buying stakes.
When I bought my ROTJ record back in 1983, it was the only Star Wars music that I owned. It remained that way until ANH came out on (double) CD. I really enjoyed that ROTJ album!
The original Jedi LP seems to ask more questions than it does provide answers. Take the cue The Return of Han Solo (At the Court of Jabba the Hutt). This cue seems to segue into the concert version of Jabba the Hutt. The film version featured on the 97 set features a different arrangement of the Jabba material. The concert version of Jabba The Hutt is featured on the Charles Gerhardt Jedi rerecording and is quiet an enjoyable cue in and of itself. So was this concert version of Jabba's theme to be featured on the planned 2LP set of Jedi? That would make sense, unfortunatley the cue itself seems to be missing in action. It has never shown up on any release. If it was to be included how would the Han Solo cue have been featured? Presented as the film version or would it have segued into another cue? Just some random thoughts.
Speculation based on Avengers: we get the remastered original albums on cd (single discs) and later we get beautifully remastered and resequenced complete releases of each score . . . as downloads only. Thoughts? Would you still purchase?
Maybe...but 5 bucks still says its all coming From Intrada in time.
Cash cow phase 1: remastered albums on May 4 Cash cow phase 2: Intrada Later Cash cow phase 3: Intrada masters as download.

Speaking of Attack of the Clones, what are views of the board on this one? Has sound improved? Does it sound more lively?
