Thunderbirds are go/Thunderbird 6 is clearly the 'hotter' title.
Can't help but laugh. A Barry Gray title is today considered "hotter" than a Tiomkin. Not only "hotter", but "clearly" hotter. I'm not laughing because it's not true... I'm laughing because these days, it IS true.

NETWORK has released its brand new trailer for the upcoming documentary Filmed In Supermarionation, featuring digitally remastered clips from the iconic 1960s shows. The film will be out in October 2014.
Directed and produced by Stephen La Riviere (The Story Of Upstairs Downstairs, We Were ‘The Champions’), Filmed In Supermarionation is the definitive documentary on the work of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson and the iconic puppetry and animation technique they developed through the 1960s including Stingray, Captain Scarlet, and most famously, Thunderbirds.

Not completely certain how to take that remark but chances are that it is very condescending or snobbish or both. Either way if it is meant the way I think it is meant, it belittles Barry Gray's work and achievements, and thát really is no reason for laughter.

My firm belief is that very often the popularity of a soundtrack album has nothing to do with the quality of the music, but rather a fond remembrance of the show.
I am very familiar with one of the titles and listened to the samples of the other. They are so different that I don't think that they can even be compared. So what we have is a popularity contest. A puppet show against a forgotten melodrama. The winner gets bragging rights.
Oh God I would flip out if it were Nevada Smith (film recordings with LP recording) orhis completely unreleased penultimate score, Firecreek.
I'd also really like The Gift of Love because LLL has their Sony relationship but as sales of A Certain Smile tanked I'm guessing that's too much to hope for so I'll just stick to those two westerns as my guess.
Unless whatever issues there've been with the complete Anne Frank recording have been resolved...
I received Wild Is The Wind Wednesday and have spun the discs twice. Very nice job - the sonics considering the age and source are remarkable - the LP disc sounds better. I've had the Columbia LP for decades. The booklet is up to LLL standards (24 pages) with lots of background information on the filming - and of course track discussions. Bravo!

I'm jealous. I ordered Wild is the Wind on its own on the first day and haven't received shipping confirmation yet.
Mine just arrived today Can't wait to give it a listen once I finish ripping the first disc. EDIT: WOW! Disc 1 sounds almost as fantastic as A Certain Smile at times Really great sound in parts.
I have to say, I am 99% satisfied with Wild is the Wind but I don't like the decision to combine two significant source cues with other ordinary cues. The vocals on Track 15 especially should have been left without adding to them so I can remove them without removing any of the score.
