Yeah Batman:TAS Volume 3 (which hopefully sells enough for Vol 4)

But THANK YOU LLL for releasing Titan A.E.! I've wanted that for years. Day well and truly made!

Also hopefully enough people buy Transformers that you'll release the first score on CD. (It's the only one I acutally enjoy musically - I haven't enjoyed any of the movies themselves)

A full third of the music on this set is by Shirley Walker.

Ooh, that's promising. Fingers crossed for "The Man Who Killed Batman" and "Terror in the Sky", in addition to the already confirmed (and superb) "Mudslide".

By the way - here is the list of titles that will be on vol.3 WITHOUT questions (simple deduction for first 2 titles):
  • Heart of Steel: Parts 1&2
  • Blind as a Bat

And this episodes was hinted by MV:
  • Robin's Reckoning: Parts 1&2
  • Eternal Youth
  • Day of the Samurai
  • Mudslide
  • The Underdwellers
  • The Clock King

Harvey Cohen title might be His Silicon Soul.

As for others - they all are fine - can't wait to see actual list.

The Harvey Cohen score is more likely to be "Cat Scratch Fever", although you might be right.

Richard Bronskill's one is hopefully "Heart of Steel part I" (the one he co-composed).

Michael McCuistion's is probably "I Am the Night", which is a great one (though it would be nice to have his "Be a Clown" score too).

Not sure what the Mark Koval score will be, whether it will be a solo effort or one he co-scored.

Todd Hayen's one is hopefully "Tyger Tyger" - I think that's his most powerful and iconic solo score of the series (aside from "Second Chance", which is reserved for The Adventures of Batman and Robin).

There are only two Cohen scores left that, to me, are worthy of a release, that havent' been released as of yet:
    "A Bullet for Bullock"
    "Cat Scratch Fever"

A second runner up might be "His Silicon Soul", simply because of made good use of Walker's Batman theme.

I'm wondering if the second, "tbd", October 21 release might be the expanded "Ladyhawke" (Andrew Powell), which was apparently delayed from last July? I hope so: In waiting for that one eagerly!

MV gave an update on Ladyhawke, as well as Star Trek Enterprise, in the All News LLL thread

Ladyhawke -- is at WB for artwork approval. It might come out this year.

Jessabelle is coming out Nov 4.

Enterprise - might come out this year. Master is done and licked. Jeff is writing notes. Hopefully we can get it all approved in time.

I don't know if there will be a Nov 18 release. It all depends on what is done and ready to ship.

And this year, there may be 4 to 6 titles for Black Friday. So save them pennies. smile

I wonder what these 4 to 6 titles might be. LLLĀ“s Black Friday has never disappointed me...

What about "Batgirl Returns"? That one and "A Bullet for Bullock" are both from The Adventures of Batman and Robin, and both are gems.

YES!!! Tyger Tyger I remember as being one of the rare episodes of the show which was just AWFUL yet the score is just as you said -- one of the most powerful and iconic scores written for the series.

JB Fan: There are hints in the list of featured composers, and that's about all I can offer at the moment. All will be revealed soon enough! smile

To answer your other questions, almost every episode in the series had an all-original score. The one exception is "Fear of Victory," which had a few tracked cues but also contained some original music from Lisa Bloom, Carlos Rodriguez and Shirley Walker. IF a Vol. 4 were to happen someday, there are two discs' worth of unreleased material remaining from the original 65-episode production run. I can't promise that WILL happen, you understand, but that's the math.

Hope that helps -- and that you enjoy Vol. 3!

As I've said in a number of posts before, I'm one of those who would love to have every last remaining unreleased note put out in a Vol. 4 some day. I hope others speak up for it as well.

So thinking in advance...if that were to happen for the second run of 20 episodes ("The Adventures of Batman & Robin") have you done the math yet? I doubt they would all fit on one 4-disc release...so two volumes of 3 discs each perhaps? And roughly the same situation for the later-produced revamp?

Hopefully John Takis will chime in. My take on what might happen is this:

'Volume 4': 2 discs covering what remains of the first 65 episodes.

'The Adventures of Batman and Robin': 4 discs covering all 20 episodes - or La La Land might get away with 3 discs covering approx. 15 episodes if they make the right selections. wink

'The New Batman Adventures': 4 discs wouldn't be enough to cover all 24 episodes so it's anyone's guess how this release would be handled.

I just wasn't sure that all of the music recorded for those 20 episodes would manage to fit on 4 discs. But I guess if 65 episodes fit on 12 discs, then 20 should fit on 4, right?

Each B:TAS disc from volumes 1 & 2 has 5-6 episodes on it, so 4 discs ought to be sufficient for 20 (or so) complete scores.

Hopefully John Takis will chime in...

It's only possibilities at this point, so there's not too much to say. IF a Vol. 4 for BTAS were to happen someday, the remaining material from the original 65 episodes would fit on 2 CDs.

With the second production run, likely to be released as THE ADVENTURES OF BATMAN & ROBIN, I feel confident that all 20 episodes would fit on 4 CDs. Whether the set will BE 4 CDs, I couldn't say.

It's at least conceivable that the entire 24-episode run of THE NEW BATMAN ADVENTURES could fit on 4 CDs. I haven't crunched the numbers, and again -- it's too early for me to say what shape the actual set (or sets) would take.

My best advice to those of you who want this stuff to keep on flowing is simple. Grab the previous BATMAN volumes, if you haven't done so. Pick up SUPERMAN. Share your enthusiasm on social media. And, of course, buy and enjoy BTAS VOL. 3! smile

I'll echo what I said on the DC animation forum by acknowledging that this looks like a spectacular set!! 24 scores! That's two dozen... I can't get over that!

What an amazing line-up... And all of Shirley Walker's solo scores from the first 65 episodes will now be released. That's fantastic.

    WOW!!!
    Great selection, really great.

And now I hope that the sales will be good and vol.4 will be released in next 2 years too (also it's will be fine-looking scheme: 2-4-4-2 wink )

If someone is lazy and don't want to search wiki or imdb, here is the last 9 titles:
24 Fear of Victory (some material by Lisa Bloom, Carlos Rodriguez and Shirley Walker)
31 The Cape and Cowl Conspiracy (Beth Ertz, Mark Koval)
    41 Joker's Wild (Todd Hayen)
43 Moon of the Wolf (Richard Bronskill)
50 Off Balance (Mark Koval, Michael McCuistion)
54 Zatanna (Peter Tomashek, Nerida Tyson-Chew)
55 The Mechanic (sorry, no music credits at imdb)
62 His Silicon Soul (Harvey R. Cohen, Carl Johnson)
65 The Worry Men (Lolita Ritmanis)

And by the way - this means that in theory, with vol.4 (if it will ever happens) LLL once again can offer autographed copies by Rodriguez, McCuistion & Ritmanis big grin

Is the new "Batman: TAS "set likely to be the last CD release in the series?

    Posted July, 2012:
While working on Vol 2 a number of episodes of the first "65" got the axe and will be featured on Vol 3: Robin's Reckoning Parts 1 and 2, Day of the Samurai and The Clock King to name a few.

Our plan is to have Vol 3 out next year (possibly another 4 disc set). That would be all the music we would release from the first 65.
    MV

    The box was nixed.

    Thanks, Justin
