According to alanhowarth.com, it is limited. Also, they changed the description for the soundtrack on his site as well. It now says, "Alan Howarth takes Halloween 4 The Return of Michael Meyers to a new level in this expanded edition of the Halloween sequels. One of his best, Howarth adds to the original Halloween themes of John Carpenter and puts his personal musical style to this movie soundtrack. Here in a new fully expanded, limited edition version, every note from the original film is reproduced noew."

What is "reproduced noew?"

Now the availability date appears to be 10/4. Wonder why they keep pushing back the date??

Looks like a spelling mistake and should be "reproduced anew" instead. Which, to me, sounds like this is actually a complete re-recording? frown

It's not a re-recording. Just not the best word choice from whoever wrote that PR.

Got it on iTunes. I love the way the sound of the scores evolve through Halloween 1, 2 and 4. There are some really striking variations of the main theme. I recommend picking it up if this kind of score is your thing.

So there are no changes then? I seem to remember that Howarth did some tinkering to the first three scores when they were re-released that confused/angered fans, so that's one of the reasons I wasn't in a rush to get this one.

I'd also still like to see if somebody could do a comparison to show what's new to this version that wasn't on the original. As many times as I've seen the film, I've never done a comparison with the Varese CD to determine what was left off. The only major piece I know was missing (that I would like to have) is the final track just before the end credits, when Jamie Lloyd attacks her stepmother and stands at the top of the stairs in her bloody clown costume.

their's a few bits from the begining of the film also some of the scenes with the shape stalking jamie on the streets. the scene where the shape enters her house and finds the pictures of laurie and her. also the music played when loomis drives to the scene of the crash. the drugstore stuff is also there. and of course the ending all that was left off the original soundtrack. also when the kids are teasing jamie because she not wearing a costume
