Solium: I found the version of Etranger with the original soundtrack, in all it's glory.
Sorry for the confusion. I was refereeing to the Macross/Robotech cue. What you posted I assume was the Japanese version? Wasn't new music scored for the American release as Robotech with a new main title?
Since most of this thread took place in 2011 and 2012 I thought I would add a few suggestions from recent years' releases.
Yugo Kanno - Psycho Pass - Though much of it is throw away electronics, the good stuff is quite lovely gothic orchestral music. Gundam Reconguista in G - While not as developed or complex as some of his other works, it still has some great themes and interesting music, even if it is spread out over 3 discs.
Kousuke Yamashita - One of the masters of melody, we got a few lovely scores from him recently. Renai Neet - A gorgeous combination of orchestral and jazz at times. Lovely theme and quite solid score. Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukashi - Great theme and lovely score overall Chihayafuru - I May have mentioned this before but it is one of his best in recent years and still blows me away with that theme.
Michiru Oshima - Tempest scores are quite lovely though sadly all included as bonuses in blu rays and each very short. Same thing with the scores to Little Witch Academy. Aura Koga is also a quite nice score from her.
Toshiyuki Watanabe Scores to Space Brothers are possibly one of the best achievements in recent years from an Anime score. So many fantastic themes well worth the three discs. Available as a 3 disc set finally.
