Another favorite of mine. Vampire Hunter D. The score adds so much to the movie.

I think you'll like this one, then. One of my favorite tracks from Giant Robo.

Reconnaissance éternelle for that one : what a lovely and "fulfilled" score. Wonderful.

A few more favorites.

This was a holy grail for a time, then I found a copy of Gall Force: Eternal Story at Amoeba in SF;

Big O: It's showtime!

Robot Carnival has some great music, including this Haisaishi track called Nightmare:

The Dirty Pair: Project Eden movie had a great soundtrack. This track played with no dialogue during the final battle sequence.

And the James Bond-like opening

Yeah, yeah. You busted me, Anabel. But it is a comparatively more obscure, non-Miyazaki track. wink

Solium: I found the version of Etranger with the original soundtrack, in all it's glory.

Sorry for the confusion. I was refereeing to the Macross/Robotech cue. What you posted I assume was the Japanese version? Wasn't new music scored for the American release as Robotech with a new main title?

Some great old school anime scores.

Finally saw the entire series, "Future Boy Conan" and really enjoyed the score.
Edit: Second half of the audio seems all spliced up.

Another classic, "The Sea Prince and the Fire Child". An exquisite romantic soundtrack.

Since most of this thread took place in 2011 and 2012 I thought I would add a few suggestions from recent years' releases.

Yugo Kanno - Psycho Pass - Though much of it is throw away electronics, the good stuff is quite lovely gothic orchestral music.
Gundam Reconguista in G - While not as developed or complex as some of his other works, it still has some great themes and interesting music, even if it is spread out over 3 discs.

Kousuke Yamashita - One of the masters of melody, we got a few lovely scores from him recently.
Renai Neet - A gorgeous combination of orchestral and jazz at times. Lovely theme and quite solid score.
Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukashi - Great theme and lovely score overall
Chihayafuru - I May have mentioned this before but it is one of his best in recent years and still blows me away with that theme.

Michiru Oshima - Tempest scores are quite lovely though sadly all included as bonuses in blu rays and each very short. Same thing with the scores to Little Witch Academy.
Aura Koga is also a quite nice score from her.

Toshiyuki Watanabe
Scores to Space Brothers are possibly one of the best achievements in recent years from an Anime score. So many fantastic themes well worth the three discs. Available as a 3 disc set finally.
