Wow, a 10 dollar increase all of a sudden? That sucks. I was going to order it tomorrow after seeing the movie, not sure I will now at that price. Just get it from Amazon? Get something else from SAE.

I'm enjoying the 2-disc steel book edition immensely. Right now, I'm on a cross-country road trip promo and luckily, my truck is equipped with a CD player that actually works! (Unlike my previous truck) The only music I have aside from the radio is Man of Steel and I have been listening to both disc repeatedly. "What are you going to do..." Is probably the best track. "Arcade" and the other cues that feature the angry Zod theme are also pretty kick-ass. The one I keep going back to is the 30 minute sketchbook track. I almost prefer this earlier, guitar heavy version of main theme. And yes, this is the perfect album for going to the gym. Agreed. I listened to it on the way to karate the other evening and I was really pumped up for class.

Also, does anyone else hear someone shouting in the first moments of Oil Rig? It's a noise that Zack Snyder's young daughter made, which was picked up by the stage mics. They kept it in the mix because they thought it was cute. That Uh-Oh also appears in the movie, after the credit sequence. Just saw the movie yesterday, and when it comes to the score, I don't know what the fuzz is all about (both positive and negative). Personally I liked it a bit more that Zimmer's Batman & Inception scores (but that doesn't say much) and imho it wasn't really anything special. After all the talk (and after his Batman/Inception-scores) I espected much worse, actually. I guess the biggest problem with the score is the fact it's the score to the new Superman movie. Overall I found it quite repetitive and I got the impression that every action scene was scored the exact same way, which was kind of bla. I liked that motif for Zod somewhat, and the flight-theme quite a lot. I wish the score would have featured that theme a little more, though (in case it appeared somewhere I else I must have missed it.) Other than that... well, it's just a new Zimmer score.

Personally...the best thing about this is well....the packaging. Its an interesting sound for sure, but I cant seem to get the idea of a mostly percussion "score" out of my head. It just didn't have the effect as previous incarnations, Williams or no Williams. But that's just my humble opinion.
