I'd just like to say that Mark Banning has excelled himself with the art direction on this release. This is one handsome looking set – fonts, layouts, image choices... really nice work!
"Riley's Departure" is SO weird. It isn't the version from the actual episode. In fact, it uses some vocals from the "Smashed" music (with Buffy and Spike doing dirty stuff in the house).

Agreed. Randall Larson's liner notes are similarly exemplary (a fact that becomes abundantly clear when compared to the extremely poor intro about the show itself). Larson's contribution was a joy to read.

I really don't get it.
I haven't got my set yet but that is indeed really strange. That was my single most wanted cue. After seeing the runtime for the cue on the tracklist I thought something might be different. The cue in the episode is around 4 minutes long and the tracklist had it at 2:26.
Can you tell yet if the other Wander cues are the cues from the episodes or alternates?

Even before I noticed that there isn't any voices in the version used in the episode, I knew something felt off. It was one of the cue I wanted the most and now... I skip it. :/
Hum... Everything else sounds good to me. But Acathla is more qualified than I am! Ha ha
Do you mean that bluray that once was released with motion version of the first issue? I bought it cause I really wanted something Buffy on bluray. But never actually watched it! haha!
Not sure if some of you Buffy lovers are aware of this. Right now on the Non-film score discussion side of FSM, Deputy Riley is posting reviews and insights into season 1 of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. You all should visit the non film score side and add your insights into these episodes. I think any comments are welcome. If you want to add any music comments, that is okay as well as various insights into each episode. Come join that discussion today.

Let's all hope and pray that yours will come tomorrow cause I have to tell you, IT'S SOOOO AMAZING!!!!
There is so much I have to say, so many thoughts. But I'll try to keep it short/simple...
My personal highlights by track order (not counting the old Beck stuff):
- Smashing The Bones (FINALLY the real version!!!) - I Hit Him - Cordelia's Bear (Murray/Clement stuff sounds much better than I thought!) - This Is Nice (OBSESSED already! Someone needs to make an hour version of it!) - Yesterday On Buffy - Spike My Boy (aka Moment of Happines. The REAL version!) - Get Out (love how "What's That Do?" has been extended) - The Chinese Slayer (awesome Wander cue! Never noticed this in the episode!) - Love Montage (so pretty/sad) - The Funeral - Tara and Willow Argue - They'll Take Dawn Away (classic Wander piano perfection) - Glory Brainsucks Tara (so tragic ) - Spike Talks To Dawn - Willow Attacks Glory - Willow Helps Buffy - The Construction (perfect Close Your Eyes/Sacrifice medley) - Xander's Proposal - More Fighting - Buffy Dies (so cool to have all of it in one track! And yes, those seconds before Sacrifice starts...chills!) - Xander Saves The World (one of my favorites! I can almost hear Willow breaking down! ) - Buffy Saves The Girls - Spike and Buffy (love this love theme) - Recap / Angel and Buffy Kiss - Angel Leaves - The Necklace - The First Visits Buffy - Willow and Kennedy (another great love theme) - The 3 last tracks sort of counts as one. PERFECTION! And I loved the moment where Andrew tells Xander about Anya was included!
Some list! lol!
I must say I really enjoy those season 3 suites! Yes, I love the individual tracks but they sound great together like that.
The sound quality in the old tracks we already had from season 2 - 4 does sound much better. And specially (like others have pointed out) Close Your Eyes. It sounds like it has more soul and warmth.
One disappointment to me though was "Riley's Departure". Wonder why they/he did that? Sounds very off to me and I wish it was the full thing (without the Spuffy vocals).
Right now I feel like I wont be able to listen to any other music than this box. Like, ever...! This is already my most precious item.
To La La Land Records/MV (I hope you read this):
Thank you for making my biggest dream come true after 20 years of waiting! I hope you realize how happy you have made me (and many others).
You have no idea (or actually I think you do ) how obsessed I've been about the Buffy score ever since Beck embraced me with his beautiful work for season 2 back in 1998! This was the moment I "discovered" score!
You really are angels and you're doing God's work by providing us this amazing magic!
Thank you for keeping up with me
I wish I could nominate you for a Nobel Peace price or something, lol! (hope to see you in Norway for the ceremony )
Apparently, not so much, because Wikipedia already wants to delete it for Copyright Infringement ? What is Copyright Infringement about posting the tracklist of a CD in a Wikipedia entry about a CD ? Ugh , oh well, I tried, moving on.
