Ooooo, Romancing the Stone has been on my most wanted list since the day I started my soundtrack collection. Can't wait for this one! Waterworld looks to be a fine release as well.
Wish I could get excited for Waterworld. I am a big Howard fan but for some reason always thought this album felt too long to begin with. It's a good score which is why I can't put my finger on why I felt this way.
I've only heard the Label X edition of Hemingway and that was a long time ago. I seem to recall it didn't sound very good (which is why I no longer have it), much like many Label X discs. So an overhaul of the sound will be much appreciated!
I don't know much about Romancing with Stone. I prefer Silvestri in his symphonic style, but according to release year, it maybe mostly synth one? So - is it more synth or symphonic?
Waxman sounds good - I'll take it. Need to listen Waterworld. But if it as good as Outbreak (my first and the only JNH score) - I'll take it too.
RTS is a combination of orchestra and synth, historically important because it is Silvestri's first feature. He was not particularly thrilled with the 2002 release, but I (and others) have learned "a few things" since then and this time he was completely happy with the mix and the presentation.
