Not sure if it was a in joke to Lincoln being in a slasher pic, but her character ended up having her throat slashed.

I'm sure that was more gruesome than any of the lamentably watered-down violence in The New Blood...

Her death was actually kind of shocking. Her character, Linda, was giving Nicolette Sheridan a run for her money in being devious on the show. She was on KNOTS for a couple of years.
Yes, The New Blood violence was really toned down... A shame. There were several great setups to the various victims and their fate.

In the book Crystal Lake Memories there are lots of great color pictures of the gore that the hardworking f/x and makeup people worked so hard on...at least it made it in the book, if not in the film. Still impatiently waiting a director's cut of that one...not to mention a few other director's cut Fridays...The New Blood is one of the sequels I have a soft spot for because it's the first one I ever saw and scared the shit out of me when I was a little boy. Even though now my favorite is Friday the 13th Part 2, I still love part 7 for it's relentless dark, gloomy, humorless atmosphere and tone. I've sure I've mentioned these things elsewhere in this thread, but who cares...I could talk about this stuff ad nauseum, and don't think I won't! Glad to have a new Jasonhead to the thread!

Trust me, can talk this up a lot as well. I was 15 when the original Friday opened... so, it is close to the dememted heart. People do not understand. If you look at some of talent that came out of that series, it really is amazing.

Oh, and yes... Halloween... Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the Nightmare series also ROCK! Some stand alone pics also were very good... Both the original and remake of My Bloody Valentine... Happy Birthday To Me (great twist ending)... just to name a few more. Okay... better start SCREAM now...

I hadn't realized a Friday the 13th was coming next month and had just watched my box set several weeks ago. But, what the heck? Why not again? Haha!! My brother and I are planning to have a marathon of the first eight movies next month (I only have the box set and have no real desire to add Jason Goes To Hell or Jason X to my shelf.) I did some quick calculations the other day, and it appears we'll have to start the first movie no later than 12PM that Friday in order to finish the entire set at a "suitable" time, and to also give us a little bit of time for a break every two films or so. Should be fun. big grin

I do marathons the same way. Glad to see I am not the only one who does that. Hmmm.... Have to take a personal day FRIDAY, MAY 13th... Let the terror begin...

The Day Is Coming. Are the Jason fans ready for a marathon???

Yes sir!!!

smile

Get ready...prep your DVDs for a marathon, sharpen your machete, pray for a Manfredini release, find your corkscrew, spread the word to your friends (preferably someone named Ned, Ted, or Terry), make sure the generator's working, don't eat those enchiladas, hold onto your American Express cards, bring your nipple clamps, keep your pearls away from telekinetics, say "please" when asking someone to return your wallet, see if Marcie left some grass, wear your Statue of Liberty necklace, no seconds on dessert for Jeff and Sandra, keep your candy bars away from Vic, don't forget Michael's birthday party, and in case you didn't know...

Jason's body has disappeared from the morgue. It was not stolen. Two people at the hospital are missing. Is this coincidence? He's alive.

I hope you guys appreciate me celebrating Friday the 13th this weekend...I could be spending the weekend with Mary Jo Conrad.

Thanks man! Although I must confess...I posted the same thing earlier in the thread, about a month ago, and just copied and pasted it tonight. Wasn't feeling creative and felt like that post was still relevant...glad I rehashed my material for your delight! wink

The absolute, #1, perfect horror movie cliche, the vulnerable girl looking for her (dead) friends in an empty house and calling out to no one...so hilarious as an essental ingredient in a slasher movie and done to perfection by Chris in Friday the 13th Part III:

"Rick? ... Debbie? ... Andy? ... I don't know what kind of game you guys are playing, but I don't like it!"

Does that strike anyone else as hilarious...? If I had to pick my favorite variation on that popular horror movie scene, of all that exist, this one is my cheesiest favorite line.

"I'm gonna give it to you straight about Redokt64. He has never recovered from the lake of Friday the 13th memories where he drowned. And if you listen to Holly Mitchell or Deputy Riley, they'll tell you he's still watching Friday the 13th -- some sort of demented fan, surviving on F13 DVDs, full grown by now, watching, stealing snacks that he needs, living off of watching Pam in the mud and Terry's derriere. Some FSM members claim they've seen him in the area. The girl that survived that movie Friday the 13th Part 2 -- that Ginny Field -- she claims she's hot as hell. She disappeared two months later. Vanished. Blond hair was everywhere. No one knows what happened to Paul Holt, or Nick from Part VII...or Tommy Jarvis...or Megan...or Ginny, or Chris, or Pam, or Reggie, or Tina, or Rennie, or Jessica, or Stephen, or Rowan, or Clay, or Whitney...never mind. Legend has it Redokt64 saw someone trying to steal his Friday the 13th DVD collection that night and he took his revenge -- a revenge that he will continue to seek if anyone enters his house/apartment/condo/townhome/mansion/double wide again."

"Rat-a-tat-a-tat-a-tat-a-touille! A-rat-a-tat-a-tat-a-tat-a-touille!"

"Paul, there's someone in this room. THERE'S SOMEONE IN THIS FUCKING ROOM!"

"Wherever the red dot goes...YA BANG!"

One reason why Friday the 13th Part 2 is my favorite in the entire series:

There's this really cool shot that I am obsessed with...Terri is in her room looking for something to cut Scott down, she's checking all around the room, she ducks down out of sight from the camera, and when she stands back up her face is extreme close-up, looking right into the camera, and her eyes dart nervously left and right. A cool lil' moment. Anyone remember that part?

Above are my guesses underneath the quotes. And yes, credit director Steve Miner and lenser Peter Stein for that creepy shot in Part Two...
