RCA Living Stereo Box 1 Disc 3
What I like about this box so far is discovering works I have never heard before. The superb sound is a bonus.

Been a while since I heard all of Also sprach Zarathustra.

Coincidentally, I recently acquired Karajan's 1983 recording (http://www.amazon.com/Also-Sprach-Zarathustra-Richard-Strauss/dp/B000001GK1) and it's magnificent. Before that I'd only ever heard the excerpts from the 2001: A Space Odyssey soundtrack, so finally hearing the complete piece after all these years was a revelation. I'm eyeballing that Living Stereo set like a rabid, starving hyena.

NP:

Absolutely gorgeous, majestic work by Atterberg. Most highly recommend for late/post Romantic period fans.

Time to blow out all this oldypants music with some REAL, hardhitting rock!

Or with some 80s synthpop!...

I posted I was listening to Visage just a few days ago, and now the sad news Steve Strange has died. RIP.

Does it get any better than this? No wonder Jack Benny was always trying to be better than Heifetz. Truly amazing stuff on these 2 cds.

I need to expand my Monkees collection beyond the greatest hits CD. Loved that LP when it was released. I had all the LPs at one time.
