Now playing some totally awesome vintage rock and roll album in 4/4 with emotionally-charged vocals and clever philosophical lyrics that are vaguely universally relevant!

Tell me this isn't one of the most beautiful things that has ever entered your ungrateful greasetubes.
Hah! I'm not much of an opera fan - when it comes to vocal music, masses, motets, & requiems are more my style - but even my ungrateful greasetubes can appreciate the exquisite loveliness of that piece.
And speaking of vocal music...
Haydn: Harmoniemesse + Salve Regina in E - Richard Hickox / Collegium Musicum 90
I thought there was a classical music thread here in recent years. I'll have to use Google to search for it.
Maybe there should be a Pop-Rock Now Playing thread...
Why? What difference does it make whether people in this thread are listening to Pop, Rock, Jazz, Classical, or anything else? The first post in this thread is a classical album, for crying out loud. And it's not as if almost everyone here hasn't posted entries from a variety of genres.
If anyone is for whatever reason irritated or offended by seeing classical or jazz albums turn up here then they should quit whining and start posting! Or is the micromanagement brigade going to demand separate threads for all types of music, so they can see only what they want?!
Mostly non-classical works by singers like Eddie Arnold and Harry Belafonte, instrumental by Mancini a golden oldie by the Sons of The Pioneers and yes some classical including vocals by Mario Lanza and instrumental works. A pity there is not a Vol 3 boxed set with non classical works that could include Victory at Sea by Rodgers and more by Mancini and Arnold et al.
And so it begins, the journey into 119 cds of classical goodness. Bawahaha
