As you say, Keane is a classic of that. Hughes is another. And Ince.

And Bruce.

And what do they all have in common?

Ack!

Back to footie - the over-paid thoroughbreds of England bravely overcame the barmen, accountants and students of San Marino last night. Huzzah!

I suspect Dave Jones was more cheesed off about the chanting that many sets of away supporters aim at him personally than he was about his keeper being handbagged.

But no, it wasn't me (as I hope you well know - I'm much taller than that). It shouldn't take much effort to track him down and give him a life ban and an assault conviction. The worst thing about it is that it DOES give the media the chance to trot out all their old prejudices.

I think it's a sad fact that many football fans - term being used VERY loosely there - will never evolve to be mature grown-ups. Their mental age frightens me! And these people are allowed to have children!!! frown

The guy wasnt a young kid either, was he?

As it is in every paper and on TV, expect an arrest announcement anytime soon.

It didnt help of course that he wasnt the only one leaping about over the barrier and the stewards all seemed to be looking the other way when he ran between them back into the crowd. He will be sorry next week when he is banned for life and facing charges.

Sadly, events like this - when shown endlessly on TV - can often put the seed of thought in other idiots heads.
What price another invasion over the weekend? Lets hope not.

TG - I knew it wasnt you mate, but the rest of the board wants your detailed whereabouts for last night. And "staying in listening to soundtracks" doesnt get you off the hook!!

We were watching Green Lantern on DVD (£3 only - I didn't want to risk £7 on a blu ray given the feedback!) - now, who would claim to have watched Green Lantern if it weren't true?

(By the way, the Sheff Wed keeper took a dive)

TG: Whats that line from Connery in the Untouchables?
Who would claim to be that were it not true?!!
something like that.

But then, the police might still smell a rat given the alibi is so implausible!

Perhaps you were relying on the embarrassment of the admission getting you off scot free???!!

Back to Kirkland - his assailent did only use the palms of his hands but if you look they went past Kirkland's head quite a distance with some force, so until I see a better camera angle Im not going to suspect Suarez-like acting and judge the Wednesday man too harshly.

Perhaps he thought staying on the ground was the most passive and tactical thing for him to do?

Yes Kev - you have no idea how much I detest Southampton!! Nice win.
Hammers have some tough games coming up so we needed points in the bag - in a months time we will be overtaken by quite a few teams.

So the lad who hit Kirkland was already banned from every ground in the country? He should do at least 2 years in prison. Total moron.

Bolton came back from 2-0, conceded a 5th penalty in six games, but won 3-2. Without Coyle it'll be interesting to see how we do. He was clueless tactically and played some abysmal players. We changed it up a bit yesterday but still conceded 2 like we seem to every game.

Apparently there were just 4 or 5 coppers at the bolton ground and it kicked off big time - only then did they bring more vans and dogs in. Unbelievable.

Man City looking a bit vunerable last night!!

And Arsenal getting found out again too. Pundits talking them up may have been a little premature.

And no Phelpsmeister?
Where's he hiding?

Bolton got a new manager: Dougie Freedman. Vaguely remember him as a player, but that's it.

Read a truly bizarre article by sports writer Jim White, who is usually decent, saying that it was a terrible move by Bolton, and we're trading long term goals for a quick-fix. He isn't aware that we're already half-way through Coyle's long-term vision and we're dropping like a rock.

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/jim-white/bolton-decision-sack-owen-coyle-truly-wretched-121639150.html

Clearly he has not watched Bolton the last year and a half and doesn't understand what Coyle was like. Tactically clueless, he relied on loan players like Daniel Sturridge to do the business, while spending 4 million quid on Marvin Sordell who he rated so much he never played him in the prem or the championship, instead getting loan players in his place.

He lost about 30 of his last 45-50 games. We've lost HALF of our games this year and looked very poor in most. We have no strike force; Kev Davies who puts himself about but was never a goalscorer and David Ngog who is just AWFUL and misses at least one simple tap in a game. We have no bite in midfield. He sold our 2 best goalies and we have a truly abysmal defence that concedes over 2 goals on average. He got rid of all the sports science stuff Big Sam Allardyce set up and his backroom staff seem unable to motivate or improve our squad.

I don't know who is more clueless Jim White or Owen Coyle (who was a nice bloke but had to go). Good luck with Freedman having to sort the mess out - if i were him I'd have stayed at Palace.
