A cup of "hot chocolate" anyone?

As long as it's got those teeny marshmallows in it! smile

I've never reallly drunk hot chocolate but don't understand chucking a load of marshmallows in it either. Seems a bit mad, Ted.

Ah no, sorry CAT, i was quoting Dougal from FATHER TED, the best three irish priests on an island based comedy series ever.

FATHER TED plays over here in the States, in between butchered episodes of THE AVENGERS (and those toads at BBC America never play the B&W episodes, either. Might frighten off potential consumers.)

Father Ted was brilliant, and Mrs. Doyle was exactly like my Irish Grandma..."Ah, go on, you will have a bit of cake...go on, go on, go, go on, just a little piece, a tiny morsel? you'll catch yer death if you don't", etc...

But she only serves tea throughout the entire series and NOT coffee. She is a housekeeper and tea-lady after all.

I generally like my coffee strong and black.
I like Starbucks coffee, especially their Breakfast Blend.

Coffee with Bailey's will give one's opinion of coffee some strong support.

or Kahlua and coffee.

better yet:
a coffee nudge, with Grand Marnier, Kahlua, and white creme de cocao, topped with whipped cream (that's how it's made at my place of business.

Irish coffee: Jameson's Irish Whiskey and coffee.

Keoke Coffee:
Kahlua, Brandy, white creme de cocao

Ah, JJH , well reminded. A coffee with Jameson's in is nice, and also sometimes if i have eaten out i have a Bailey's Coffee which is very nice indeed.

I like a nice French Roast.

Don't be chintzy...use two tablespoons of coffee per cup (normal-size). If you use a large mug, use three or four tablespoons.

The stronger (but not bitter), the better.

I did this yesterday. Fantastic! Thanks for the tip.

mwruger and Mr. Pulliam have stated the most important aspects of making coffee. My only suggestion is to try using the BEST coffee maker I've ever used (and I've tried a lot): the little Melita single-cup manual cone filter holder and a basic teapot. I use a #4 paper filter instead of the smaller #2 so I don't make a mess. My favorite coffees are single origin medium roasts, such as Tanzanian Peaberry, Guatamalan Antigua, or organic Nicaraguan.

Hey, Cat--
It may be time for another one of our famous American "tea parties". Shall we throw a surprise one for our British messageboard chums?
