Just finished watching "The Frank Lampard Show", as he has become Chelsea's all-time goals scorer. Chelsea wins 2-1 at Aston Villa. Exciting match. I hopeyou don't accidentally support them, Bill, what with the claret and blue (give or take a subtle checkerboard pattern). How many teams wear the claret and blue, anyway? There ARE other colors, you know.
Made up for Wigan! Thoroughly deserved FA Cup win and good to see the underdog triumph on the day. City never really turned up, although they looked dangerous on the break. Wigan took the game to City and won the cup because of that. If they manage to stay up this season, it will have been one hell of a season for them. Football is all about winning cups, so congratulations to Swansea and Wigan (who would have thunk it) for bagging their glory and adding to their history. Also, Europe beckons for both of them next season!
"The goal was just reward for Wigan, whose drive and intensity was in sharp contrast to the desperately lacklustre display served up by City as last season's Premier League champions end this campaign empty-handed. It completed a miserable day for manager Roberto Mancini, which began with reports that was about to be sacked and replaced by Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini and ended with a defeat that left City's hierarchy looking on stone-faced from the Royal Box as Wigan celebrated."
Every time Daniel Sturridge scores for Liverpool--he had a hat trick against Fulham today--I ask myself once again why Chelsea let him go.
I ask myself more why he continues to do that stupid 'body-popping' celebration of his...
You should be thankful he has something to "body pop" about, seeing as Liverpool haven't won the league in nearly twenty-five years. You could always get Andy Carroll or Fernando Torres back, as they rarely ever have cause to celebrate scoring a goal.
Things could be up for grabs next season in the Prem. Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea and Everton - 4 of the top 7 - will all have new managers. so factoring in new styles, regimes, tactics etc, things could get interesting for teams ready to pounce with a more consistent bedrock?

I think this thread needs a more "holistic" approach, don't you think?

Yeah, come on Sheikh, throw another billion at it!
Chelsea win the Europa Cup which I'm sure is a great consolation prize and payoff but my god is that trophy ugly. Looks like a BBC prop from Pertwee-era Dr Who.

Agreed. And speaking of ugly, how come that scrote gets to lift a trophy AGAIN when he wasn't involved in the game?
